Is it just me or does Angus Graham look like an intelligent thinking footballer that needs some solid consistent senior football? I really think he's shown some good signs lately. Just needs to find his feet and run a bit harder into the forward and defensive 50's.

He is our future ruckman. We won all our clearances when he was rucking against Melbourne. Looks like a great tap ruckman and has good clean disposal.

I like him alot.

Top kid, I'm on the bandy. Could he be your classic case of rookie listed ruckman becomes top liner, ie Cox, Sandilands, Campbell? If he can improve his around the ground skills and confidence he could be good. If not, he'll just dominate hitouts and give a contest around the ground whilst Vickery or Patto be our Hille/Fraser/Cox.

Must admit he has been decent in the ruck this year and seems to be improving with every game. How quickly perceptions regarding a players ability change!

Geez we'd be even more stuffed without our late (post pick 50) ND, PSD and rookie picks. Best 22 players in foley, graham, tuck, white, jackson, newman, moore, raines, thursfield and likely types in collins, connors, nahas and browne coming through aswell :thumbsu:

i see a few signs of progress, alot slower with these lumbering giants, he trapped a ball nicely at one point and dished off a good handball and even weaved thru some traffic at onepoint to dish off a foot pass that I thought was beyond him...worth persevering with as simmo is stuffed

A definite positive from the Dees game, simply ii the fact that he did the majority of the ruck work, yet we didn't lost anything in that area by not having Simmo in there.

Now i am a fan of gus - well at least of giving gus a lot more time but i swear it was when hw went onto the ball that they got all the centre clearances in the second quarter last week.

I am gunna have to look at the tape again.

But yes i do admit he will take Simmos place.

Simmo and Wallace both came on 5 year deals - and both will be gone it looks like.

But Terry told us Browne was the go pre-Round 1, after telling us Angus was all the rage in the pre-season.

It TW doesn't know, how the heck does Angus, Troy, Patto, Browne who's doing what?
I like them all...different in different ways.

But, just who do we follow?

My brother laughs whenever I mention Graham for some reason, but I think despite not looking particularly intelligent or mobile from the exterior, he has shown some potential in the last 2 matches.

Funny stuff. Where were you all a month ago when I was in the extreme minority that were sticking up for Gus? People are like sheep I swear. Half of them probably had never seen him play.

I was going to do the old "it's just you" line but from reading the above posts apparently not.

I'd rather Patto in the before him once fit but hey if Simmo continues his dream run it will be Gus and Patto for the rest of the year.

Better than Warncock I suppose .....................

Gus. He won all the clearances in that second term. Dominated in the ruck and his disposal after being put under pressure from his dimwitted team mates was exceptional. I few clangers but hey his only young.

I would go Gus over Simmonds. With Pattison/Browne as back up.

And who was Simmonds getting owned by when he was rucking?

I don't really care if it was Cox or a no name ruckman, the point is developing Gus to be number 1.

Simmonds wouldt matter who was in the ruck vs him at the moment. He would find a way to stuff it up. Simmonds vs a 15yo i bet the kid would beat simmo lol

this 1 is a no brainer simmo is gone might be wrong but looks that way grayme looking good for now browne for back up vickery to follow patto to ff and pinch hit in ruck if rqd ruck stocks not as bad as some would have us believe

I was a massive doubter last year as to whether he could improve much...he has surprised me quite a bit. When i watched him in the VFL i didn't think he was much chop but in my opinion he is easily out-rucking simmo so far this season...Patto deserves to come in and drop simmonds he is just cruising along and that's not what a ruckman is paid for.

Bit out of left field - put perhaps TW thought that Browne's form had to be rewarded and that Gus needed to know that just because he was the next in line he wasn't going to be gifted games.

Works well as Browne gets a taste and learns from it and Gus works harder to get and keep his place.

Yeah he looks alright, i wanna know how Richmond herd of the bloke seeing he is from king island and there are F**K all people there and only three footy teams.

I remember watching sunrise a while ago and there was this little thing they had of some of the younger Richmond players, some lady took the group through some sort of learning how to be gentleman school, leaning table manners and Sh*t like that. at the end.. some of the players were asking her questions, then Angus put his hand up to ask a question. No word of a lie! this is what he asked "what do you do if you want to ask a girl back to your house for Intercourse?" I nearly fainted! and the girl was like..OMG i cant believe you just asked me that.

This makes me feel a bit nervous about him

I had my doubts but so far he looks the goods. Simmo looks in trouble but atm we still need him. Patto still has a spot in the side though.
