Wow melbourne posters need to get over it. You guys got ridiculously over the top compensation for him which would leave most Geelong supporters feeling a bit ripped off over what they got for ablett. I'm sure alot of people are upset they took some of the games emerging stars but fact is they want success and you can't get it by taking the rejects and hacks. No offense to freo and brissy posters but this is the type of recruitment that could've resulted in earlier success rather than the ridicule that has been dished out since.

No doubt there would have been some hard headed types on here who refused to disagree. And Scully should certainly turn into a fine player (but I don't think he'll be anything special, that knee is structurally stuffed). That's the nature of BF.

But if you look at Trengove and Martin, then look at Scully.... its pretty clear who the better players are. Still the compo for Scully is pretty good.

Fyfe's the pick that bums me out the most too, cause as much as I rate Gysberts and Tapscott, we had another two chances to get him as well.

Whilst I am bitter as a Melbourne supporter about the whole Scully scenario... and I absolutely hate Sheedy and Gubby Allen, I'll give their branding credit:

Name - Greater Western Sydney... drop 'Greater' and it a winner.

Mascot - Giants... not a fan. Least liked thing about the brand. Too 'American'.

Guernsey - A blend of modern (G) and traditional (Orange yoke on Charcoal).

Colours - Distinctive orange... charcoal is different though.

Theme Song - If it is the words and tune above, it's a winner. Love it. Like the AFL Themes of the original Victorian clubs.

This is the theme song of the Western Suburbs Magpies from the Sydney AFL. It sounds great when the players sing it after games, and it will sound great when GWS supporters sing it after games too. I hope GWS go with this song, as it has a bit of history and not a terrible new plastic song like Gold Coast, Freo, et al. I like the connection with Wests and I think it's a step in the right direction for the club.

If they're going with a Civil War tune, more appropriate to take one from the South, what about Dixie, which would be a great footy team song.
