What it means for GWS:
The Giants have revived their season with three tough wins in a row and simply must keep the momentum going to stay in the hunt for a top four spot. The Hawks are another big test.
What it means for Hawthorn: While they're mathematically only a slim chance to play finals, the Hawks are dangerous for any opponent, at any venue. If they can upset GWS they keep themselves in contention.

The stat: The Giants were embarrassed when the two sides met at the MCG in round eight, kicking just 1.4 in the second half to lose by 33 points. Jeremy Cameron (0.4) and Harry Himmelberg (scoreless) had no impact.
The match-up: Nick Haynes v Jack Gunston
The Giants defender (No. 185 in the Official AFL Player Ratings) has been outstanding in the air over the past month, taking 40 marks from his past four matches, and needs to be made accountable by the Hawks. Gunston (ranked No.65) could be the man to do the job. He's dangerous whenever he gets the footy close to goal and must make Haynes pay if he can get his hands on it.

It’s a big week for: Paul Puopolo
The veteran has kicked just one goal in his past seven matches and needs to find a spark from somewhere. If he can, his speed will cause the Giants problems at ground level.

Big call: He leads the competition for goal assists but Harry Himmelberg will cash in for himself against the Hawks this week, with a career-best Friday night haul of six goals.
Prediction: GWS by 28 points

We got belted by them earlier in the year.

Possibly (hopefully) Jezza, Kelly, MDB and Kennedy to return.

Think it'll be another heart attack win to the Giants.

Giants by 3.

I think this game will be over within the first 10 minutes. Hawthorn will field their B team.

Giants by 78 points

Just pumped to see Changkouth Jiath(CJ) getting a game. The kid is electric and is one of the best stories in footy.

Feel like Teia Miles must be the most hated person at Hawthorn.

There’s no room for him. He’s competing against Scrimshaw and Sicily for a spot across half back and he isn’t better than those two. Plus his inability to defend hurts his chances of playing.

I mentioned Jiath when he was playing TAC Cup and he has some talent. I'm glad he's been given a chance. I'll be following his career closely and hope he goes well for you guys.

One of his main assets at under age level was his ability to read the play and his athleticism. I haven't seen any of his VFL career but it's good to see he's improved other areas of his game enough for him to get a call up at AFL level. I knew he had it in him.

Good luck to the kid.

I smell an upset here. The GWS forward line is the weakest it's been all season and the Hawks have one of the best defensive set-ups in the league.

Hawks aren't exactly flash up front at the moment. We get plenty of the ball, but waste it a tonne going forward.

Have you seen whose out for us?

Still think Cameron will be a late out as well.

Will be a dour slog with the weather and with the outs the Hawks will win.
not so sure mate..
they let us have a 50 point turn around last week...and we're not that good!
You do have some big out, but have had guys step up and you've found a way to win a few close games lately...
Giants are the consistent team in this game...even if the list isn't.

It'll be a low scoring game imo and Hawthorn have more avenues to goal. It's tough to call but I can see the Hawks winning this.
