We were just chatting about this source on the port board. I wouldn't put too much stock in it doing more than re-gurgitating stuff they read on line like in this very thread.

As I've said on this thread before , each team only has one player on over 700k maybe bar Sydney and the 2 expan teams with caps winding back to normal now or soon. No one would believe Hamish is ports highest , or even second highest paid player.

Any one with any inside knowledge would know this, hence it then becomes reasonable to deduce this guy doesn't know facts at all.

The whole football reporting industry is a bit like that symbol where the snake is eating its own tail. I'll have to google what it is called again.

As for HH, i wouldn't be giving up pick 1 for him and i only see us going after him if Jobe retires which will leave us with plenty of cash.

I don't see how we do deals for both Hartlett and Lyons and also retain a draft presence, unless players are on the table. It might be the latter is seen as a cheaper and more viable option.

A top 10 pick is probably overs tbh. Unless you are throwing a second back I don't think anyone would cough up a top 10 pick for an inconsistent player on a big contract.

Not sure if serious. A 9 pick upgrade for an uncontracted laverde is way overs. Do people think he has serious value or something?

That's our whole scheme though, we've put Hartlett on the table because his best is very, very good. We're essentially daring another club to take a chance on him, throw a high draft pick our way and hope to get the best out of him.

We're either going to get a high draft pick, or keep a fan favourite.

West Coast would have Naitanui and Kennedy on $700+ with a few others very close.

Freo have had Pav and Sandilands for years at or above that mark

Your cap could very well be bulging DUE to Ryder and Dixon. Neither would have come cheap.

Hartletts own manager was on radio and stated that port didn't put Hamish up for trade. He said that teams were making big plays to lure Hamish away
