Just wondering which young ruckman fellow supporters would like to see play if we continue to play 3 of them for the majority of the season ?.

Personally i would go with Hampson because i think he has alot more potential, a bit of x-factor and could play a position in our forward line better than sauce could.

It is a tough one!! I dont want to commit yet to a vote untill i see Jacobs have a few more games under his belt at the highest level :thumbsu:

Jacobs is a Pure Tap ruckman while Hammo is more mobile and good around the ground. I may be leaning slightly to Jacobs only because we have a few mobile big guys in Hammos mould allready with Kruez and Cloke etc .

Very tough decision though i will vote after Rd 5 !! :D

I think Jacobs' ruck work is better than Hampson's. The club would know who is better. This is why Jacobs is getting a game. Hampson needs as much game time as possible and he will only get this in the 2nds. He has a lot to work on like his hands and i hope that he's getting a fair run up forward. Some people don't think tap work is important. Those people have never played on the ball before! It's attacking and defensive elements where the ruckman can put the ball in a position where it can be easily won and defended are invaluable.

Since when have we been playing 3 of them???

In the practice matches when we have 30 players in the team? :o

Hammer. Jacobs had 3 touches at like 3 qrt time. Hampson generally has 6 by than. Jacobs tapwork is better at this stage yet Hampsons will overtake him.

I counted Cloke along with Kreuzer and Jacobs.
I don't think we'll be seeing cloke in the ruck very often this year. Hopefully anyhow.
I think Jacobs will be playing ahead of hampson because he has the bigger body. Until hampson starts dominating in the bullants Jacobs is the safer option.

Jacobs is the safe short-yerm option yet Hampson's upside, his potential is way beyond that of 'Sauce'.

Jacobs deserves his spot for the moment but if you asked me which one was staying if i had to choose between then it'd be Hampster in a heartbeat - rare athlete this boy.

Although, just quietly, it wouldn't surprise me if we had to make a tough call re GC17 and a high draft pick in the next year or so.

Jacobs now, but ask me again in 12 months time. Just when we think Hampson is going to make the big leap into AFL footballer, he either gets injured, or he just can't stand up to the demands of AFL footy. Jacobs has does nothing wrong from what I can see this year, and deserves to retain his spot - at least until Hampson starts dominating with the Ants, or Warnock recovers from his latest injury.

Either way, Jacobs and Hampson wont be getting many possessions, at least not for a few years, and anyway, Kreuzer significantly makes up for that.

But Jacobs' impressive haul of 20 hitouts against Richmond is enough for him to get my vote. If he can make a good contest in the ruck (might struggle against better opposition, but I can't see Hampson doing any better atm) then he's worth having in the side. At least until Warnock comes back.

But like many of you are saying, Hampson is a long term option, and has much potential.

So Jacobs indefinatly, Hampson eventually.

What a dilemma! Can't remember when we last had any real options! All the lads show something.. Kreuzer's game was an eye-opener in comparison to last season. The other two did well albeit against sometimes very mediocre opposition. Jolly and Hille await, maybe then we can assess the relative merits. Meantime let's enjoy the ride.

We have a real problem keeping both of them when Warnock comes into the side, i can see one of them going to GC, lets hope if one does we get something for him and dont loose him on the free uncontracted player rule.

Hampson has been a huge dissappiontment, doesnt seem to be able to actually read the play etc. I have always said he will end up at the Gold Coast as a trade.

Ultimately it will be Warnock and K with Jacobs providing servicable backup.

Jacobs had 55% game time and he played most of the last quarter where he picked up 6 possies. So he would be lucky to have 30% game time by 3qrt time. He didn't make a mistake with any of his possies. I am in love with Sauce. The way he looked to just shove Simmons out of his way was fantastic.

Hammo is someone i fear will go to GC17... I wish he doesnt, because if he can get his marking to scratch, he will be one of the most dominating figures playing...

Jacobs is well in front at the moment.

Hampson has far greater scope for improvement but we cannot play him in the ruck on potential alone.

Hampson shows freakish ability at times but continues to struggle with some of the basics and for the moment we simply cannot lead with a ruckman that struggles to hold on to chest marks. Until he gets these basics down pat with the Bullants we can't really afford to include him at the expense of Jacobs, especially if Jacobs continues playing the way he has thus far this season.

These two are going head to head for a spot.
At this stage I would have jacobs ahead, as his hit outs are far better than Hamma's and with our midfield we don't need a ruckmen to do anything else. Hamma should take over next year at the number 3 ruck.

I have some mail that they don't expect Warnock to play seniors at all this year :(
