Bankteller, Jones for Dalembert would never happen in a million years. Dalembert will be the second player protected in the expansion draft behind AI, if not the first... Dalembert is one of the top young big prospects in the league, and is actually delivering some pretty nice stats unlike our good friends in Illinois.

Personally I think that Jones will be moved by Miami and chances are that they will have to accept less then what Jones is worth (due to his contract). If you asked a Miami fan about swapping Jones for Dalembert and a contract (to make up salary difference) they would see it as Miami getting ripped off.

Dalembert is a good prospect I agree, I also tend to think that this is a strech trade, having said that I do see some benefits for both teams.

Phily gets finally some genuine support for AI and Jones is a prome time defender too. AI has shown some tendancy recently at becoming a more of a passing SG which means that he could be played at 1 spot especially considering how creative he is witha ball in his hand. Jones would slot in at two nicely. Jones's biggest offensive strength is his transition game and he plays well with players that create for him, he is not great at creating for himself and AI can do that for him

Delembert is a good young center no doubt, but he is still a high risk player. Firstly, from memory, he was out his whole rookie season with serious knee injury. Secondly there are plenty of centres in the league, and some are out of the league, that have made a killing out of one season. I can think of players such as Mark Jackson, Calvin Booth, Jerome James, Brendan Haywood and Isac Austin were all at one stage given large contracts based on potential and all have turned up to be duds (sort of) Personally I think that Samuel will do better then those players mentioned and I do not think that the trade is that likely however if Philly wants to give AI a final shot at the Championship it may need to be brave and pull off this sort of a move.

And if Miami approached Philly about that, the GM would laugh... simple.

There is only one thing simple and that is that we are agruing a ficticious argument, one that neither of us can support with any credibility.

Why would Philly want Jones when they already have Iverson at the 2 guard. You said move Iverson to PG but AI is no PG, plus if you slide him to the 1 then what do you do with Snow who is one of the better PG's in the league?

Silly trade. If Philly were looking for talent then they should be looking for a slashing scoring 3. Robinson doesnt cut the mustard and Thomas is a little undersized at PF and too slow at SF. Dalembert has tons of potential and Thomas is solid. But I agree Philly need to make a move because each and every year they go backwards. They need to get AI some REAL help.

I agree with you Jod.. Philly need some height, as most teams in the East do.. AI is a very creative SG, and you cant just put him at PG and get rid of Snow, just to bring in Jones.. It's pretty much a pointless trade..
Dalambert is getting to be a great player, one that any team in the NBA would want to protect from being traded..
AI really does need some help at the 6'ers in the near future or the club may find themselves w/out him.. A possibility may be AI going to Detroit now that Brown has the head coaching job there..
Maybe one to watch out for?

I might be wrong here but I think that they didn't get along at Philly so I doubt they would get along in motown.
Your right, but it would fit their bad boys image!

Seriously, it's either AI or Ford. So who's going to be their new coach?

I thought I might be.

I doubt Philly would trade AI as he is their franchise player. If they happen to trade him it would be for another franchise type player.

I think the is more chance of Philly getting a new coach than getting rid of AI. As to who the coach will be, I have no idea.

right on there....AI is more than likely gonna stay with 76ers.

...also I heard something about if Kobe were to leave LA...Philly would be willing to part with a few big name players to get him...could this work out or would there salary cap problems

Be careful with your use of plurals here. Any trade (sign and trade?) involving Kobe to Philadelphia would include Allen Iverson, and necessary irrelevant filler on either side...

What he said.

If Kobe does leave LA, I think Memphis are the front runners simple because of the Jerry West factor.
