Hannebery VS Martin

I was sure there was already a Polls Board thread comparing the two but all I could find was the Bay 13 edition.

There was a lot of discussion in 2010 about whether or not Hannebery really was the best rising star that year due to Martin also having a great season but being ineligible.

Just as a guideline, here are their career stats (averages).​

Hannebery has the advantage of coming within a bee's dick of a Norm Smith and having a more than stellar finals series against three quality opponents (averaged 30 touches in finals).

Bias, i'd choose Martin first, he has more weapons and is a game breaker.

I hope he reaches his full potential, Hannebery doesn't seem to have any off field issues/distractions.

He once through an egg at school and was an accomplice in a rampaging Kombi incident!

But yeah if Martin gets his off field issues sorted (and isn't arrested for drug trafficking) he could become one of the games best.

I'm expecting a breakout season from both this year.

I'll admit I had a bit of a grudge against Hannebery after 2010 as I saw him as 'the pretender' rising star. However in saying that, after watching him last year, particularly in the final series, I have to give him his due - he is a fantastic young player who I now rate very highly.

I still think Martin might have a higher ceiling than Hannebery but on career achievements he would be ahead. If DM can have a big year and distance himself from all the silly rumours, his natural development and Choco's guidance may help him become a special player for us.

I thought hannebry was stiff not to get norm smith last year. Proving he is a big game player. Martin only really shown some glimpses so far.
