That was my exact thought too. Anyone know if he's a left or right footer yet? :p

No, but apparently he's got perfect pitch and is tipped to become a musical prodigy. He's already started piano, but I've heard he has the hands for the cello or violin.:thumbsu:

Beez, I'm sure you wouldn't deny the arts a place in the Collingwood pantheon, would you? Little Jett might be a great tenor, for example, and one day he might sing the national anthem at a Collingwood- Carlton grand final, and Ayce might harmonise. Their parents would be so proud.:)

I would prefer to see Jett win the ball out of the centre and hit Ayce on the chest 30m out from goal :D

I'm sure Bucks will have the football in Jett's hands in no time, and will be encouraging him to use both sides of his body just like his father did to him in his early years. It all depends how hard Bucks pushes him, and whether not his own childhood is what he wants to reflect on a new generation.

Either way congratulations to the Buckley family on what looks to be a very healthy child.

Kids don't develop a dominant side until age 4-6, so Jett still has plenty of time to practice and become elite before even knowing what a left or right-footer is. :p

When i asked him at his book launch if he could pop out another 16 or so boys for us, he laughed and said dont you mean 20 because of the bench, and i replied if they are all buckleys we wouldn't need a bench.. he laughed again and said that he was not going to put too much pressure on them.

So i guess he felt that the pressure his Dad put on him growing up is not what he wants his own children to go through.
Although you could confidently say that the pressure Ray put on his son is the reason why he was so successful, its probably a fair decision.

That is a good point, i wonder if he would have been a league footballer if it were not for his dads pressure. by his own admission, he may not have become the player that he did...We may have another brayden or rhys, mcguane or some other dead beat on our hands...Unlikely tho :)

Ahem:

Most children have a preference for using one hand or the other by the age of about 18 months, and are definitely right or left-handed by about the age of three. However, a recent UK study of unborn babies found that handedness might develop in utero.

Interesting, and obviously contrary to what I've been taught in paediatrics. I'd suggest there is plenty of contradictory literature out there on that point...

Not that they'd know, surely. How would someone know that an 18-month-old child has a preference on left or right?
