1. Yes. A good balance of talented, intelligent people who will strive together to reclaim this proud clubs rightful place as the most successful club in the AFL.
or

2. No. You monkeys should never have been allowed to vote.

Not sure how to read Carltons election results. From the outside looking in, was it a good result? Smorgan at least said he wanted to be president. Who is going to step into his shoes? personally, i reckon mike fitzpatrick would be a godsend for your club. agree?

I am reserving my judgment until I see how the Board operates.

If I see
1. A united front
2. Only positive media statements/appearances (with no further negative leaks to the press)
3. Sound management with a view to ensuring both the long-term viability of the club and also on-field success
4. Elimination of ego based in-fighting, bickering and politicking,
then I will be happy.

I don't want to make any judgment based on personalities alone.

Exactly, until I see what they do, I can't judge. Hopefully though, there will be no more in-fighting from here on in.

The best thing is hopefully all directors get the message. - No in-fighting!

If directors want to start a public s*#t fight, don't expect to win it, expect only to be shown the door.

Good riddance Diggins. Good riddance Smorgan.

As if we weren't getting enough bad press.

Happy that Smorgon has been shown the door, but like a couple of others have said, I will will reserve my judgement until the Board have appointed a new President, and we have 12 months under his guidance.

According to the Hun, it looks like a 2 horse race between Lee and Moulton. I'd love Greg Lee to get the nod, but i'm just not sure is he has the nouse just yet to become a President of a Footy Club.

I think the people most happy with the election result would have to be certain so-called 'sports' journalists in Melbourne. Once again, they've managed to hide the fact that they know nothing about any sport other than AFL by blowing an off-season club election into a Shakespearian drama of epic proportions.

Its like they went "Hmmm. Should we a) learn a little bit about the A-league, NBL, NFL, EPL, and all the other world class sport (that isn't tennis and cricket, who have their own local beat writers), and write interesting and informative articles about those. Or b) find an insignificant football story, no matter how nauseatingly boring it is, and beat it until everyone thinks its a big issue. Strangely enough, they chose b...

Now we're into Febuary, the pre-season comp starts in a couple of weeks, and all those journalists have to do is crank out a couple of 'player X looked really good at training and is set for a big year' or 'new recruit X has moved to Melbourne, is settling in really well and looks like being the next Jimmy Plunkett' type stories, and they'll have successfully got through another off-season without their ignorance being highlighted (and yes, I'm looking at Caroline '3 football articles a week, even in December' Wilson in particular).
