What is the hardest position to play on the ground and why ?

I would have to say the ruck because of the constant body work and knee's to the ribs etc.

Definitely CHF.

Anyone who has played at CHF, at any level, would tell you that it's an extremely difficult position to play.

CHF is by far the toughest followed by full forward. If your CHF you take the most punishment and rely on reading the play just to get half a break.Full forwards impossible if your in a team full of hungry pricks who get in your space.IMO the easiest positions are the wing and anywhere in the backline.

All things being equal CHF I reckon.

But, a small defender has a pr1ck of a job. Most of the time it is a skillful, arsey, arrogant little reciever as an opponent, who in 5 minutes can make you look silly. The added pressure of usually taking kick ins and being expected to create run from defence is extremelly hard I reckon.

You can play extremely well as a BP, run the ball, set up attacks, but if the little bugger has 6 kicks he will usually kick 4 goals. That is regarded as a defeat.

Any position in the back half is very hard if the midfield is getting smashed.

All positions have their little things, but CHF is probably the most crucial.

But what about CHB - if he has a shocker and the opposition CHF goes berserk, then what?? your team is ****ed!!

Full Forward is hard, in that people have such an easy stat to judge how good (or bad) you are - goals kicked.

I think it changes with the way the games played.
Throughout the 90s I would say Fullback was the hardest position to play.

During the 90s the game was played man on man and forward lines were very open. It was pretty easy for fullforwards. They were the focal point and the ball almost always went to them. A fullback could beat his man for most of the day but if the ff took a mark a quarter then he could end up kicking 4 or 5 goals and have a good day. Lockett did this a lot.

At the moment I would say center half forward.
My reason is because at the moment most teams have wingman who also play as half backs. So half forwards are generally outnumbered. Football is now played between the 2 half back lines and the team that can break through that line wins. That's a generalisation of course but I doubt whether anyone can deny that the days of open forward lines are gone. At least for now anyway. At times almost the whole team goes into defense.

Seems as if the concensus is CHF (naturally).

And with Tredrea being the concensus for best CHF in the comp, that makes him the best player in the hardest position in the comp - ergo the best player in the comp :)

VIVA the MONOLITH!!

Full Back or CHF, both high pressure positions in that a bad game at FB will most likely lead to a game being lost and a good game at CHF can usually equate to a win.
