I admit I was a skeptic. I was critical of him at times sometimes too critical. Last night he backed up his brilliant performance in the GF by playing an outstanding game. Running hard, tackling, spoiling and taking good overhead marks.

If Egan makes it back to the team next year, could this be another Scarlett/Harley dynasty? Probably not but it will be as strong.

Harry Taylor continues to prove he is one of the best defenders in the league.

Actually Lonners played on Gumbleton (and towelled him up), Harry played on Neagle and at times on the resting ruckman. He did really well as he always does.

It will be interesting, given he got the key forward rather than Scarlo last night, whether he plays on Franklin next week, or whether Scarlo gets that job.

Read the article with him in last night's footy record-class act that H.

Say what?

Sadly Egan's football days are behind him, but who needs Egan when we have the Q9.

Beast if a man.

Sometimes being surrounded by quality gives you more confidence.

I think Geelong is a very good breeding ground at the moment.

He is really starting to show that he will be one of the best defenders by the end of year.

And to think we picked him up as a replacement for Egan.

Imagine if we still had Egan as well.

good to see he is starting to get some recognition, was extremely consistent last year, and his unassuming nature makes it easy to overlook his contribution to the team, much like dasher has copped the majority of his career. Another top game by H last night, will be the all australian CHB within the next cpl of years... mark my words

He seems to have developed the Fletcher like ability of manufacturing a spoil when he seems completely out of position.

....If Selwood wasn't in our side, I'd say he'd be captain one day. ...who knows?

Its ******ed how little attention Taylor gets from pretty much anyone. Easily one of the better defenders in the competition now. Wells is a genius for picking him up.

I really like Harry , has had a big say in our success the last two years. I wish he had a better "get out of jail" by hand or foot when forced onto his right. Thats being picky but when we do these little dicky kicks in the backline he does get caught out occasionally.Generally he is the perfect back for footy these days where almost more athleticism is required in the backline than the forwardline.

He , Mackie and Lonergan would have to be 3 of the best kicks for their size in any side in the AFL. Add Hunt and Kelly and one can see the importance the GFC staff place on foot skills coming out of the backline. Maybe its why Varcoe has been talked up as a HB player.

I think varcoe is more being touted as a backliner as he hasn't really cracked it as a small forward, and it is getting crowded up there with pods rooke Byrnes et al. Maybe they are trying to make a mackie out of him.

I can see the combination of Mackie, Lonergan and Taylor developing ing a formidable unit, and good height whilst maintaining speed and endurance.
At 192, 197 and 193cm, I think they've got the talls covered.
Then there's Enright, Bartell, Kelly, etc on the ground, not forgetting Josh Hunt and Scarlo.
The defence is looking good.

But that's the only thing he thinks he knows about him.

Now, if Harry were to have a competition with someone.....

Maybe he, SJ and Moons can have a competition who can put the most egg on Walls' face by proving him wrong the most over the course of the season. :D

Yes it would be, but it's hard to see Egan coming back. He hasn't played since 2007, and he just can't get his foot right, this is his 3rd season out and a lot of things have changed in the AFL so even if he did make a return would he still be the same player ? I'd love to have him back though, he was terrific during that Wonderful 2007 Premiership year.
