Has anyone else noticed

Just something interesting that was pointed out to me. Has anyone else noticed that two games in the frist round of this Ansett Cup, are exactly the same as the first round of our Home and Aways last year?. Well I thought it was interesting. Sorry but if you didnt get to read this post before I edited it then you will not understand what the others are talking about. God I amuse myself.

Exactly the same? I seemed to remember Geelong playing Freo in RD 1 last year so just for interests sake I had a look -

How come it took me until THIS YEAR to finally realise that Golden Point is a locality near Maryborough, and not a suburb of Ballarat? Can't believe I only just noticed it.

They play out of Ballarat, though, don't they?

Close again but no cigar Mobben! Golden Point is a Ballafrigginrat locale, I reckon you may be thinking of Golden Square that play in the Bendigo league? Got a feeling thats where Greg Williams came from. Golden Point footy club - nickname the "Rice-eaters"

Oh stuff see, never rely on what anyone else tells you, that was a Bummer supporter who told me that last night, no wonder his mind was clouded after the game. Well did you notice that in those two games the results were reversed.

Do Golden Point play out of the southern outskirts of Ballarat? I used to go to Ballarat a lot a few years back and seem to remember a Golden Point something-or-other.

Well that's what I always thought, Agent 86, but recently I have had reason to believe that the Golden Point in question is the locality (it's on the map) just south-east of Maryborough, on the way to Craigie.

If that's incorrect then where is the Ballarat locale? Is it a suburb of the city, I didn't know there was one of that name.

The one near Maryboroughs a new one on me Mobben, dont know anything about it. The Point I know is a suburb of B'rat, south of the city centre on the way to Buninyong (who will win the CHFL flag this year btw)

Thanks Agent 86, for clearing it up. There is a GP near Maryborough, but I didn't know about the one in Ballarat.

Buninyong, eh? Do CHFL still have Beaufort and Waubra playing? They used to be in my hometown's old league : Lexton FL.
