I have always been a huge fan of Brayden's. I think that todays game doesnt allow for kids to have fun, Brayden is definetly a victim of that but a great player nonetheless!
I think the fact that we dumped him may have brought him to realise that its time to take footy alittle bit more seriously. Is it worth picking him up again in any of the drafts this year?! I think it is.

I was a fan of his too, but I now think he's got serious deficiencies. I'd call it the Woewodin factor. That is, they are not inherently crap, but the game has passed them by as they are too short and slow, not really inside and not outside either and lacking at least one standout skill.

I think we've made the right choice. Best of luck to him!

It's a possibility, but the fact is that he was never going to get himself in shape for us.

It wasn't until he actually got delisted by Collingwood that he realised that he needed to work harder than he was or it was not going to happen for him at AFL level.

I say happy trails to him at Melbourne. I don't think he's destined to ever become the kind of great player that will make us regret letting him go, but more like a Shane O'Bree honest toiler at best.

Good luck to the guy. Looked, during the p-s, that he was going to take the next step. Strange - he certainly appeared to have the dedication.

Still could end up going ok at AFL level.

yeah...and?? are you saying that because heath's played what 5 games he's better??
Just is a better all round player.

Can play midfield, back and did play down back pretty well I thought.

And buddy, Braydens a dud, get over it.

He's gone now. Failed to live up to expectations so he's out. Hope he succeeds elsewhere, but frankly, who cares.

Brayden wasn't in the best shape but that wasn't the reason why we delisted him. He didn't fit our needs. It wasn't that he didnt work enough to lose weight, he didn't work enough to improve his on field game and injury further complicated the matter. He is in inflexible inside midfielder with lower than average pace but no outstanding attributes. He is basically Dane Swan without his flexibility and ability to get the ball.

He didnt fit our needs? At a time that we are severly lacking quality mids you claim that he didnt fit our needs? Brayden wasnt dropped due to his lack of skill and footballing ability he was dropped because of his refusal to improve on those skills and get them up to AFL level and above! He was Vic Metro captain dont forget. Brayden Shaw trying at 100% 100% of the time will make the cut and how... That is if he is serious this time around

Brayden Shaw was always better then Heath and will be better then Heath Shaw, the reason behind Brayden Shaws departure is due to the fact his d|cKh3ad dad is Tony Shaw. He wasn't even given a single game to prove himself even though at one stage when fit in 3-4 weeks he was averaging 28 possessions a game in the reserves. He was delisted 8 weeks before the end of the year, that somes up Collingwoods views on him. And he will prove them wrong when he gets picked by Melbourne, sad to see another Paul Williams story happen

Willo was already an established gun of the club. Shaw was just an arrogant kid resting on his laurels and fathers name havinga good time in the mean time!

What do you think of Paul Haselby?

Personally I’d be happy to rookie Brayden (and for that matter Davidson).

perhaps you right....but then again i wouldnt go around singing the praises of heath mate, you may look very silly in a year or two.
i personally think they're both duds.

Good luck to him.
He's lucky in retrospect because he's had his kick up the @rse nice and early in his career and has the real opportunity to succeed elsewhere, unlike others who have stayed on lists too long and by the time they get their marching orders it is too late to resurrect themselves.

Wins the footy inside with more regularity than a Metamucil addict!

Uses it better and quicker. Brayden's yet to see 22 possessions at VFL level, let alone average it at AFL level over a career!
He was close to selection late 2004 because he was averaging close to 28 possessions a game in the VFL over 4-5 weeks. This year has seen him riddled by unjuries, it wasn't him being a cocky kid that got him delisted, it was politics at Collingwood that got him delisted, thats why Tony Shaws son got delisted, because the dads a plain d|ckh3ad

Thats just common knowledge, eg. Clokes, what the father decides is what the sons will do. Tony Shaw and Collingwood do not get along, so Brayden is the scapegoat. What is your views on why he got delisted?

That may well be true, but Brayden was delisted because he delved to deeply into the social scene, he was a liability on our list and wasnt goign anywhere! he has tremendous talent and now that he has shaken those demons i say get him back. Coz i doubt we will get much better with our later picks!

You are so right and you can thank your coach for this blunder. When it comes to trade time the pies self destruct again.

How Nathan Brown going?
How about Darren Gaspar?

How did we self destruct? IMO, we delisted most of the players we needed to delist. Maybe we should have got a first-round draft pick for Cole, but i'm happy that piece of crap is gone.

Atleast we are heading in the right direction.

Browny going well and Gasper's just fine thanks how is buckleys hammy going?
