Haselby...snap

Officially out for the season it seems. Looked very very bad and you could tell he knew what happened right away

NAB games are getting more serious each year. They are no longer scratch matches and injuries are starting to appear. The intensity in these games is as high as a regular season game.

Sooner or later the AFL should scrap this and extend the Home and Away Season. Maybe call the irst 10 rounds the NAB cup and award the Ladder leader the Cup...For sponsorship dollar.
and just tell the cricketers to go somewhere else?

As it is we have to play games in Darwin, Manuka (on a cricket pitch :() to fit in 7 games in one weekend........and the opener of Blues vs Tiges is on doubt if the Vics host the Pura cup final.........10 weeks is not possible ground wise, unless you want to play premiership matches in Swan Hill.

Terrible for Hasleby, I'm gutted. We will never know if he was truly getting over hi OP. I fear this could be a very long hard road back for him with players like Palmer, Hinkley, Ibbotson, O'Brien and Mayne coming through.

Lots of untapped talent wasted due to a long term mismanaged injury right there.:(

No it isnt. Foolish thing to say.
Hopefully it is just a few week thing instead of a season. Fremantle certainly need him if they are to do anything serious this season.

Poor guy - must be the worst feeling. Hopefully he can overcome the injury and get back playing for the Dockers...

Nothing worse than seeing a player go down in the pre-season. Fingers crossed that there are no more serious injuries.

It will be interesting to see if the Dockers go into next weeks match with the (close to) full complement of players that they had against the eagles last night.. or if they decide to err on the side of caution and rest some of their gun players.

anyhow, i agree that pre-season games are important but the eagles have been successful without ever going full tilt in such games.

Bad news. Clint Weeldon on ABC with confirmation that Haselby is gone.:thumbsd:

Rhys Palmer will now definately play 25 games this year though.:thumbsu:

Rhys may be a contender:thumbsu:, but he's first year but he hasn't got scant the experience Haze has got :thumbsd::( Plus he'll be tagged and bashed a fair bit. Is he ready?
Perhaps Foster is ready to step in.

Gutted. Not a fan of the actual wording in the topic here either.

Managed terriblely by the Conolly era, I still shake my head when Paul was spoken of in terms of how many games in the season he had left in him (How much longer they could keep pumping him with pain killers).

Step on up Palmer/Obrien for a spot in the team.

Headland and J Carr we are now even more reliant on you.

Unlucky - was set for a big year.

If your relying on that front runner its going to be a long year

THE season of Fremantle midfielder Paul Hasleby is over after just one pre-season game, with the Dockers confirming today a knee injury suffered in the NAB Cup win over West Coast needed reconstructive surgery.

Saw him in the deli the other day getting a greasy whole BBQ chicken. Interesting diet for an AFL footballer.

If you take the skin off (who does?) they are not so bad.

Poor guy. It is terrible for injuries to hapen at this time of year. There are always a few players going down in the NAB or intra-club or at training at this time of year. Maybe training loads in preseason need to be looked at?

Besides the jovial nature of the bickering fans above, I did actually see Daniel Kerr in Subiaco eating a plate of oil ridden fries and a filthy hamburger.

100%

Interesting diet for an AFL footballer.

2 top liners in one day

You girls can pinch and pull hair as much as u like but its just a nightmare for the guys concerned. All the work and expectation for the season down the gurgler in a second...and with a huge amount of recovery work and the great unknown to follow afterwards.

Two guys that may have had a serious impact on their clubs fortunes gone in one day...its a bloody shame for THEM.

Last yr we copped Thompson and Bradshaw in quick succession...just prey there's no more for the preseason.

Chicken would have to be one of the best sources of lean protein I can think of.

Lets assume he pulls the skin off.

What are you suggesting would be an alternative?
