8. Aussie XI 14 2 - 101 0

And it's off to IV.2 I go. Still really unsure how I will go. Depends if I decide to sell off a couple more players due to wages.

Just finished my season against the league of bots with 14 wins 0 losses 101 goals for and 11 against.

Top 5 goal scorers in the league with the leader finishing with 29 for the season.
Obviusly i will get promoted and no doubt relegated after next season:D

Big reason people train Stamina and Set pieces is that all players get trained regardless of whether they play or not. That added to the already mentioned importance of stamina to both midfield and to anybody that aims to play a 'pressing' strategy for a game mean that it is a given for the end of season. If you dont train either stamina or set pieces you will only be training half or less of your players. Training winger/passing etc is as good as just giving up training spots for nothing.

Now is a good time to buy players from positions that you dont train. many teams are shedding players at the moment to make room for new season trainees. They try to get rid of the players before the age increment. If its a skill that you dont train then, as long as they arent going to get into the skill losses ages (27+ I think) then there's no problem. I am trying at the moment to get some new scorers and i would be just as happy with a cheaper 20 yo than I would with an 18 yo as I have no intention of training scoring for the forseeable future.

Has anybody seen any fallout from the much discussed bot cull?? I didnt promote/demote so I am still in the same spot I was at seasons end. Did anybody promote that wasnt meant to etc??

I had a query i was going to ask on the hattrick boards, but my mate who is new to the game played a qualifyer to promote from div VI (admitedly he tried to throw, but so did the other team.) My mate ended up winning 4-0 anyway and when you go to his team page it shows the div V he went into, but when you view the table it shows the team he beat in the qualifier.

The Cup draw is out, I will make my debut but i will be out first round i bet.
I play a team called Boro Boys who have won their past 12 games.
Also they have won 3 IV's in a row, they seem to win the league, get relegated, win the league get relegated and recently they have won their league again.

Unlucky. I managed to get a bot team. But after that it could be anyone. Hopefully not a div IV team. :o

The first (or second) game I ever played on hattrick was a first round cup game against a bot and I proceeded to lose 1-0. This time round I've been given a team recently promoted to division V team so I don't like my chances. The money from even two cup games would have been very handy.

From what I've seen of the teams in my division and friends teams, the teams that are 4th, 5th and 6th in division VI seem to have been given far tougher games than last season.

First round is tough for low-league teams. Week 1 has no league game, therefore no training, therefore no point in playing your reserves in the cup. That means an encounter against a near full-strength team from a higher div in the first round ... get through that and next week is normally easier.

i get to play this team that highest player has 1 1/2 stars not that i should really rely on stars but i think my team should get through easily enough, not sure how i drew another team from div vi though i just moved down and looking at my league i should go back to div v next season and hopefully be competitive unlike last season where i only made an impact in the last 2 games.

edit: my league is full of bots except for me.

How did everyone go in the cup?

The matches seem to have disappeared but if you won you should have a round 2 cup match scheduled for next week. I use Hattrick Organiser and was able to read the match report through that if that helps anyone.

I managed to beat a division V team 2-1 which gets me through to the second round and a home game against one of Oceania's biggest clubs.

Dyertribe, we plan to make your trip to Peter Crouch Stadium as uncomfortable as possible. :D

Apparently i won 10-0. Can't access the site, but i got told that was the result. On a PIC too. :thumbsu:

Are you kidding me? What are the chances of that? Imagine a huge boilover here, would be interesting times on this thread. :p

Match reports for cup games are up. I won 4-0 with the great Rocco Chan scoring a brace will being my worst performing player.

Frank Vereker for Oceania!

Well i controlled the first half, started to fall away in the 2nd, then conceded a goal with about 8mins to go and lose 1-0.

I also had problems with the site, but that was well before the game, i was going to put my team in and couldnt get through.

won my game 6-0 against a bot played pretty well though i had all poor apart from a wretched midfield(very high)

possesion was 71% in the first and 89% in the second

The fact he hasn't replied means he is scared. Petrified.

That's what happens when you come up against a team that not only has 11 hard working players but 11 players playing for the great Crouchzinho. You'd walk through walls to win the approval of the great man. ;)

Seriously, I'll get belted. It's one thing to scrape through against a team one division higher with an average of 18% possession. It's another to beat one of the most expensive teams in hattrick with a disasterous (but high :o ) midfield and a possession rate of 2%. I'm just over the moon to earn another $100k. Getting out of debt and saving enough for a solid coach is now a much more realistic proposition.

Well done to everyone that won today. For those that didn't, the real stuff starts on Sunday.

I'm planning on producing a once-off yellow kit for the occasion. ;)

Is this the first competitive BigFooty derby?

Hey Guys I have been playing Hattrick since October and I have just got this message:

"The team has missed out on training for the week due the incomprehensible actions of the club manager."

What does this mean, is it my fault of the coaches?

Your formation was unrecognisable.

So you either played a non-formation - ie 1-5-2 or 3-6-1 - or played more than 3 inner midfielders or central defenders, etc.

:D

To be honest I was just planning to PIC and rest my best players but because my coach only has poor leadership I've found any increase in team spirit is usually gone in less than a week.

So rather than play my B team and get killed, I've decided to play my best team and get killed. :thumbsu:

It must be the first competitive game between bigfooty teams but having said that I fear it won't be that competitive.

I had as good a day as the umpires at Aurora Stadium.

I finished fourth last season and was playing against the team that finished third. The top team was promoted and the second placed team is fairly inactive so I decided to put all my eggs in one basket and MOTS.

Ended up losing 4-0, lost my keeper for 6 weeks and my 31yo midfielder for 4 weeks. The only other keeper I have is poor and I'm still in debt so I don't think I have the funds to bring in a replacement.

Terrible day all up. Someone upstairs had a bit of sympathy and turned down the sound of the siren in Launceston to save it from being a total disaster. ;)
