Won 3-1 at home on a PIC.

Am outright 4th currently playing 2nd team next week, want to MOTS against him, am also thinking of changing my 100% playmaking training to general & 90% this week only to get the form & TS benefits from it.

Anyone think this is a bad idea? There will be no promotion this season as the top team is too good but I want to finish as high as I can.

Good result!

I personally haven't dabbled with general training so i can't really say too much about it, but reading on the forums alot of people say it generally isn't worth it. Only for teams in divisions I and II who heavily rely on form to get good results. I'd say stick to your training regime, it would be far more worthwhile to get your trainees up to a much higher level rather than worrying about form. Maybe sainter can add to this.

I won 5-1 today, i wasn't expecting to win the midfield so i used the counter-attack tactic on a PIC, my opponent done a PIC as well and i ended up winning the midfield which made using the CA tactic pretty much useless. Anyway, i would have taken a 5-1 win if you had told me that before the game.

I haven't used general training either and I agree with what you've said.

Nonetheless I think it's good thinking by Bobby.

I'm not exactly sure how big the boost in form is with the reduced intensity and general training but considering he doesn't think he can win the league anyway I'd stick with the usual training.

If Dyertribe or Weaver read this they might have better advice.

I've just had a $1.6 million bid made for one of my 21 year old brilliant defenders and I'm trying to decide whether to sell my 21 yo magnificent defender now or hold on to him for a little longer. I don't want to promote to division 5 and have a weaker defence than this season. I'll actually need the good defence then.

sounds good sainter. Are you looking to buy a player with that 1.6m? A nice striker would be good, to boost the central attack ratings. :thumbsu:

I've just upgraded my stadium to 32,000 so a lot of the money has gone to that. I'll probably sell 3-4 more trainees before the end of the season so with that money I'll need to replace them and then buy a striker, a couple of midfielders, a couple of wingers and upgrade my coach.

My central attack is definitely weak. I play a 5-4-1 and the striker is fairly average. I'm looking forward to next season when the game will start to become more challenging.

Thanks for the advice guys, I ended up not changing training or intensity but just played MOTS, won 3-1 at his ground and have moved up to 3rd, a win next week against 2nd would see me leapfrog him.

I will most likely break even in midfield but am thinking of conceding the midfield with a PIC & play counters? Is this crazy thinking?

Just came away with a frustrating scoredraw at home in my three horse title race in IV.38.

Destroyed him everywhere bar the midfield which I still shaded:

I've got a raft of home games coming up though so hopefully I can go on a run while hoping for the others to slip up.

Pretty unlucky not to win that DyerTribe! Your left attack demolished his right defense, that alone should have been good enough for the win. Was it a scoreless draw? Cause i cant see how he would have scored a goal since your defense smothers his attack accross the board.

Anyway, i had a 3-2 win away from home. I made the mistake of under-estimating my opponent and he almost pulled a good victory off. But this win keeps me equal 1st in div V.219. I'll get smashed next week, unless anyone has any tips on how i should combat Southern Spirit? Don't be put off by his midfield rating in his latest match, i;ve seen him get brilliant midfield ratings which i cannot match.

I will leave team advice up to more experienced player, but think you should feel lucky that Chris Johnson is out injured - his TSI is crazy.

Forgot all about that! I might be able to match him in the midfield now, although training scoring he'll have an extra man in the midfield over me. Decisions, decisions!

Ended 1-1.

I've never been able to take a trick in matches like that.

Some of the defeats I've suffered in the past - despite dominating everywhere - would make you laugh. ;)

In the last 6 weeks I've sold 21 year old Defender trainees for $2 000 000, $1 632 000 and $1 500 000 and upgraded my stadium to 32,000 so I'll be able to strengthen the squad. I'll be going up to Division V for the first time and I'm a bit worried about how I'll cope as a defence trainer but as long as I can improve my midfield and central attack I should be able to do OK.

When I started the game I bought mostly all 17 and 18 year olds trainees so I probably need to buy a better balance of trainees so they don't all pop at the same time as well. Still, the game is a lot more fun when the money starts to come in.

Need some advice before I submit team orders for tomorrow.

I reduced training this week to improve the TS before the match, was originally going to PIC & counter, but am now thinking of MOTS again but AIM (midfield will be either even or me just winning playing normal)

Any advice is appreciated. A win here would put me in 2nd place.

Whats your team ID again? I think i have you bookmarked but i'm not sure which team it is amongst the 50 others. :(

I had a look, and i'm not sure to be honest! You were away and he was at home last week. So if you both play normal, you'll win the midfield since you are at home this week. Hmmmm, i'm not too sure CA will win you the game. Maybe you could load up your left attack with your winger offensive and your striker towards wing. You have to improve your right side of defense. Instead of having Lautscham as an extra central defender, just play him defensive as a WB?

Yeah, I am not sure why he was set as an extra CD but I changed him to just RB.

I was going to play a passable scorer & passable passing as my striker alongside Timou, but might play my solid scorer passable winger (he has nothing for passing) as towards wing.

Thanks for the advice, the orders are set at MOTS & AIM for now, might change it tomorrow before kickoff.

Ok, now i have a question...

I have a match coming up against the only team that could possibly knock me off. He's only a game behind me, and he'll no doubt MOTS against me as it'll be his last chance. Should I also MOTS?

won 4-1 today. Sitting 4pts clear of second and 7 clear of third so its down to me and 2nd.

im now getting a bit of money but yet to be able to afford a decent player that will help me if i go up into div V, i think im in a playoff at the moment so i guess ill have to keep winning to go straight up.

I assume you're talking about Werribee Rangers in the last game of the season.

The problem is that the leadership of your coach is wretched so the effect of a MOTS or a PIC will be minimal. However because it's the last game of the season, you should always MOTS anyway UNLESS you have a qualifier to come. There's no point playing MOTS in the last game of the season and then having your team spirit stuffed for the qualifier. Hopefully you'll know by then whether you have the title wrapped or not. Team spirit is reset at the end of the season so it's well worth doing I think.

It looks like we're both going up and we both have a coach with wretched leadership. You'll need to look at promoting an existing player or externally recruiting a coach for next season because MOTS and PIC will be important in the stronger division.

Not to worry bobby! Plenty of time to promote yet.

Anyway, i lost 5-2 today, i *could* have made a game of it and more than likely won had i MOTS'd, but i want to stay down and buy some quality defenders to improve my defense and promote next season.
