what do you think this guy would sell for?

Nothing. Maybe someone will get sucked into buying him for his set pieces.

Had a 2-1 victory this week. First win of the season. Have to try to get into that last play-off spot (again). I am 5 for 5 in playoffs :)

Won 6-0 on a PIC, even had another central defender sent off for the third time this season. 5 points clear in first still.

I PIC'd for the first time and won 3-0. Even managed to get through a game without any injury which I didn't think was possible. Peter Crouch was inspired enough to release another press announcement.

My keeper had a TSI of 4100 when I brought him and it's now down to 3450. Is it dropping because his form is inadequate and if that's the case is his TSI likely to increase when his form improves? I was hoping to sell him but I suppose I won't get as much as I would have when his TSI was higher.

Form affects TSI yes so that is likely why his TSI has gone down, unless he is very old.

Won 5-0 today, but still only in first place by 2 points. It's going to be one of those seasons where top place is simply decided by what happens when first & second meet each others, and luckily I won the first encounter :)

Edited to reflect my situation. Very similar situations.

Get used to PIC'ing. It is probably the key to winning a league. Keep your team spirit pumped up as high as you can, and PIC every chance you can.

Ignore TSI completely. I doubt anyone pays much attention to it at all. Some people will use it to calculate how long a GK has to pop, but that is a small number and not really relevant to low-skill guys who aren't being trained.

This is my list, 23 players need cash who should I sell and who should I fire???

I'd sack:

Sankar
Sherwin
Cross
Israeli
Ropati
Warren

They have no major skill level in certain areas and you definately need a new keeper, you could probably get a passable for 80-100k i think?

What are you training by the way? Cause you can sell a lot of the players that are high in the skill that you are training and replace them with 17 or 18 year olds.

I'd train strikers or wingers with that squad.

Strikers

League game
NewKeeper.
Mizrachi, Zadok, Tiu
McLean, Berson, Mischler, Liang
Tuang, Tripathi, Caia
(Sankar, Yaacob, Carlaw, Oz, Valdman)

Friendly
Sankar
Mizrachi, Yaacob, Tiu
McLean, Berson, Mischler, Valdman
Carlaw, Oz, Liang
(NewKeeper, Zadok, no one, Tuang, no one)

Wingers

League game

NewKeeper.
Mizrachi (FB), Tiu, Zadok (FB)
McLean, Berson,Caia, Mischler, Liang
Tuang, Tripathi
(Sankar, Yaacob, Carlaw, Oz, Valdman)

Friendly game

Sankar
Berson, Yaacob, Tiu, Tuang
Carlaw, Tripathi, Mischler, Caia, Valdman
Oz
(NewKeeper, no, no one, no one, Mizrachi)

Sack / Sell
Buckler (he is the most expensive defender, so cut wage bill. He might sell).
Slaska
Solomon
Sherwin
Cross
Israeli
Ropati
Warren

I'd say Buckler was a 10% chance to sell and only Berson has any potential to raise cash.

Weaver if he sacked 6 players he would only have 17 left.
Question, when you play a friendly do you have the same keeper/defenders/strikers as your league side and just change to midfielders in order to get them trained thus risking injury?

I don't have a big enough squad to replace all of my back-up outfield players but I play as many of them as I can in the friendly. I usually have one or two players at the most from my league team who back up in the friendly.

It's just not worth the risk. The friendly result doesn't matter, you are only playing it to give your second set of trainees a game.

Yep pretty much.

The only penalties are the risk of injury, and the fact that you pass up on the chance to give some players experience points.

The reward is cutting the wage bill which can be compensation enough.

Who cares if you have an injury in a friendly and don't have a replacement? So you finish with 9 men? The result doesn't matter.

If you are training PM you need your 10 trainees.

Then 3 defenders, 2 strikers and a GK. Have one other guy as a spare player. Even if he is just a weak defender you can still plug him in every now and again. If you have two injuries, play your coach.

If you find yourself needing an extra body for a match, go by a cheap $1k guy or use a rubbish youthpull.

I only have 20 players plus a coach. One of those players is a clown, so basically just 19 players. I can afford a reserve keeper, but most people don't have to bother. So in essence just 18 players and I am in Div II.

I am training Through Passes at the moment. 17 guys get trained every week, so that is basically my whole squad (other than my GK).

If a guy isn't improving (training), or playing in the seniors, he is simply dead money.

Almost all transfer prices have gone down over time. Buying a guy to sell later is money down the drain if he isn't playing in your first team.

I'd like to hear your opinion on clowns Weaver. Some people rate them, some people don't. Have you actually noticed any difference to your team spirit by having one?

Don't think I'd ever bother buying one. I bought mine before a couple of rule changes made coaches more important. I just keep him around because with a TSI of just 50, he almost pays me to stay.

The other advantage of a clown (particularly for me) is it lets you know who your team leader is. It means I can buy a guy with passable leadership safe in the knowledge that he won't become my team leader, and ruin the TS.

So more insurance against a bad apple, than benefit from a good apple ... if you get my drift.

Clowns?????

I had a disappointing 1-0 win today against one of the bottom teams, top team drew 2-2 (first points they dropped all season) despite having 72% possession both halves

im still 3rd

i had another 6-0 win on a PIC. Team in 2nd lost to the team in 3rd, which now means i am 7 points clear in 1st. Division V here i come!

They are players (that dont play i think), they are just in your team squad to help keep the team spirit up. Some people swear by them, some people say they have no effect what-so-ever.

Not sure how much they are to be honest, but i think they have to have solid leadership.

Keeping your team spirit up is pretty important. It has a huge effect on your match ratings.

I really need to stop going out and getting ********ed on Saturday nights and forgetting to put my team in. Still won 6-0 however.

Must have been a big night as you still had an until 1:45pm Sunday to change it. :D

My team won 3-0 to make it 5 in a row. Should win next week and then the following week will be the big showdown for third place.

My team has never won a game. In 6 weeks we have conceeded 38 goals and scored 3. I've nearly gone bankrupt twice, but i have a beautiful all terrace stadium. My highest TSI is around 700 if that, but i do have a player with one of the longest names i have ever seen. I've been in control of the side for about 10 weeks i think.

Not bad going if i do say so myself :)
