I won 8-0 today, with my strikers chipping in with 7 of the 8 goals. I've gotten a for and against of 28-1 in my last 4 games, 7 points clear in first still, things are looking up for me! Div V here i come!

On passing training, ill be doing it for half a season in roughly 1.5 seasons time (yes i have sadly planned that far ahead) due to my trainee wingers will be around 20 then and should be able to get a good deal of $$$ with good passing on them.

I always meant to do that, but ended up spending my spare weeks on playmaking instead when I wasn't training wing.

Passing always looks good on a well-rounded winger though - especially with so many teams peaking because of astronomical wages, in future seasons the edge will be found in secondaries and tertiaries.

Cheers RoosterLad, Sainter, dyertribe and Ed Gein. I'll train defending and see how it goes and hopefully pick up a point or even get a result before the end of the season ;)

I had a bye this week (5-0 against a team with no players) but the important one was 2nd vs 3rd. They had a 1-1 draw which means Im almost a certainty to get promoted. Although I do have to play 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th with 3 games being away but my goal difference is huge.

1. vicspurs 10 39 - 5 27
2. Port Pirie Spirit 10 29 - 4 21
3. R e i g n C i t y 10 33 - 14 21
4. The Dirtybirds 10 19 - 13 16
5. BHB Bombers 10 31 - 29 14
6. Spy United 10 15 - 15 13
7. FIGJAM FC 10 10 - 38 3
8. Deft FC 10 2 - 60 0

weaver, i see you got 55k to your latest home game against Urkraft. How many supporters do you have? I think i got 1550 with a 21k stadium, going to upgrade at the end of season though.

3022 supporters and an 80,640 stadium. My problem is that I am losing too many games and my supporter numbers are falling. Lots of spare seats whenever I play, so put the kids in the Datsun and role up, role up.

Unfortunately, and it is something defender trainees might consider, but the public don't like watching 0-0 pressing boredraws.

Took a 3-2 loss today which hurts. Needed that draw. Have to pick up 2 points and get into 6th place and a playoff.

OK guys, looking for some advice....

Heres my series table

1. Pennybridge Pioneer 10 59 - 6 30
2. Urkraft Destroyers 10 50 - 14 24
3. Agnostic Armadillos 10 58 - 18 21
4. Calsonic United 10 38 - 23 18
5. Madtown Vikings 10 26 - 24 15
6. TOG United 10 7 - 30 5
7. North Shore Demons 10 9 - 54 5
8. Trouser City 10 1 - 79 0

I pretty have my series wrapped up in a neat little package and should promote to div IV, but here is the problem.

Cash funds: -516 521 AU$ (-330 028) AU$
Sponsors: dancing in the streets
Supporters Club: 2092 members
Supporters: high on life

Wages 549 784

I have 3 mythical midfielders costing me 130k, 150k, 175k each per week. I really don't want to sell them as I want to push for a Div IV promotion next season, but I dont see how I can keep them as I have an away game this week and will probably go -1m. However I have two home matches straight after that fixture! If I sell I am worried my new crop of midfielders won't be good enough for Div IV.

So im looking for some advice from someone with experience around here. Should I sell all 3, 1 or hold out?

When I play away from home I only lose about 20,000. Why do you lose so much money?? Im assuming your midfielders cost $13,000 and not $130,000...

As you can see the cost is much different. I think you can afford to sell one anyway. You should get a couple of million for one.

Played against 2nd today away so I made it my MOTS and promptly won 7-0. 3rd drew so Im now 8 points in front and need 1 point from the final 3 games to be promoted into div 4.

Going to PIC for the last 3 games of the season.

My 6 game winning streak came to an end with a 2-1 loss. The winner came in the 88th minute and I lost one of my best trainees to injury in the 89th minute so it wasn't the best ending. I'm pretty much certain to finish fourth now which I'm reasonably happy with for my first season.

You might be right but I would be suprised. Only half the champions get automatic promotion. The other half go into a playoff. Normally you pretty much have to win your championship without dropping more than 1-2 points to be gaurenteed of going up.

Oh i didnt know that. Well Im definately going to PIC for the rest of the season. How many playoff games do you have to play?

The play-off is a one-off game. You play against a team that finished 5th or 6th in Div 4, and you play away.

Winning that game is often a tough ask. Never lost a relegation game myself in 4-5 attempts.

You should remember that team spirit resets in the off-season. So you should be using PIC in such a way as to

1. Autopromote,
or
2. Arrive at your playoff with TS through the roof to give you a chance of winning the playoff.

Well Im currently in 114th and the top 128 autopromote so it will be a very tough finish. Will play this week's game normally and see how I go. Thanks for the link Sammy

Hehe, if only that site had stats for division VI to see where i lay. Although i haven't dropped a point at all this season and i hope to continue that until seasons end. I won my recent match a whopping 10-0 which is my biggest ever win.

i lost 2-0 to a side just below me, maybe because i played MOTS last week, my keeper was also stretchered off
doesnt really matter though as im not going up

a few weeks ago i tried buying players and it seems very difficult to get anybody unless you are online just as the deadline approaches
i would bid and there seemed to be heaps of others chasing the player, is this normal or just unlucky?
of course when the bid keeps getting raised the price is far too high

Yeah you either gotta be online (set the deadline to less than 2 hours) or you gotta buy them at inflated prices.

There are bargains out there. Usually you can pick up players who the owners have listed when they got injured for a cheaper price. I've managed that once or twice.

But yeah, if you have hattrick supporter, you could always bookmark players that end in between a certain timeslot that you may be online in the few days ahead. So you don't have to constantly log in and out and re-check the market.

Why are their wages so much more than mine??

Further to that, wages spiral out of control the higher and higher you go - to the point of big money per level as the TSI booms.

The smart money says to sell your trainees at extra-terrestrial as that is usually when they reach their maximum value. Anything more than that and they actually begin to lose value as the wages are too high for prospective buyers.

I was able to grab a 23yo Oceanian magical playmaker with passable defending for only $7m earlier this season, and I could only sell my divine winger with brilliant playmaking/passable passing for $7m because of this phenomenon. The latter's wages were $500k + 20% per week.
