basically saying Cousins is a better pick than Judd

HAHA

This is classic

What do you expect buddy?

They've had nothing to cheer about for 28 years and now that they have a player who at one stage was rated the second best player in the league, (always behind Judd ),they think they've won the premiership.

It will be one of my grandest football memories when we give them a football lesson in front of 50,000 cocky Richmond fans (similar to their 100th year anniversary game) in round 1. Just like what they did to us last year when all the hype surrounded Juddy.
Judd tearing Cousins open a new one in round 1 then raping him again in round 15 for Richmond to miss the finals by a mere 2 points. :p
It'll happen..

Lets hope we do!
I know I'm happy someone picked him up but how you can compare a 30+ year old guy who is a "recovering" drug addict is beyond me. Compared to a mid 20's freak of nature JUDDY!

God they're (Richmond FC and its Fans) delusional. If it wasnt so tragic it would be funny.

This whole thing just reminds me of the 'Wayne Carey to Adelaide' saga.

Im over it for now - will be interesting to watch this unfold next year though.

It actually still amazes me that the Richmond supporters still believe that they had an inkling of hope of getting Judd. LOL:rolleyes: Even Melbourne had a better chance and that is just embarassing.

Although I feel very sorry for West Coast supporters for losing two favourite sons.
It'd be like us losing Richo and Browny and they went and played for Collingwood

No, it wouldnt.

Richo is a so-so player who has one good season every 6 years and Brown is a hack.

Yes well, let the 9thmond fans salivate at a possible year of success, only to be disappointed at the end of 09.........

That's a bit too far.. Richo is a champion

They also said Kent Kingsley would kick 50 goals in his first season with the Tiges. Richmond and their supporters are just addicted to quick-fix top-up recruiting. Not surprised at them getting excited at adding yet another 30+ year old to their list. It's a recipe for 9th. :)

Seems as though Terry realises he needs to show results in the 5th year of his orignal (not the 2011) 5 year plan - which he declared when he first joined Richmond in 2004.

What a rabble.

I love how they still keep mentioning Mark Coughlan as a 'top shelf' midfielder :D

hahaha....Just like the reckon they will win the flag in 09 now, and its the rebirth of NINTHMOND. Think most of them have been visiting the same dealer he has. He might even win the next 4 brownlows the way they are carrying on, ohh well let them enjoy the HIGH while they can.

The thing with Cousins is, everyone is going around saying there are no risks, and Richmond have little to lose and much to gain.

Most Richmond supporters believe the worst that can happen is that Cousins has another relapse and he's career comes to an end.

The way I see it, worst case scenario is that Cousins has another relapse, whilst taking down several other players with him. Then the fans would tear the stands down saying he was a crap recruit and they should have never wasted their time with him.

That is a HUGE risk, one which I would never take at Carlton. FFS even Collingwood didn't want him. Richmond have clearly put little to no thought into this recruit and are hoping for yet another quick fix, one which is totally "doomed to fail."

I would never trust a drug addict, present or past, with a developing crop of AFL footballers. Absolutely plain stupid.

Lighten up FFS, and join in the fun banter between two great clubs on the verge of some consistent finals action.

Most of the grown-ups here don't consider engaging with faecal-eating pre-schoolers like you, fun banter. Sorry.

Yep., odds on to start spiking drinks at club functions

Yer, we should start betting on what round the shit will hit the fan. LOL

My guess is round 12.

about post 90 of that one - some idiot mentions mcmahon as a comparison. another idiot talks of this "gun midfield" with coughlan & tambling in it to make up no. another talks of how good it will be for deludedio & cotchin yet they cant see what it will do for Walker, Murph, gibbs, simpson, betts, yarran... the list goes on.

But it is true, 9thmond supporters really are idiots.

We all know why they're really excited, and it's because they're hoping that Terry can get his hands on Ben Cousin's bottle of fake tan.

true...

that and all the muscle supplements that Ben still has that Woosha gave him :D

He he he... 'supplements' :thumbsu:

LoL @ RFC fans, they'll do ANYTHING for a 1-up over us.

They're forgetting a certain yellow and bleak day that Juddy spent on the sideline watching a young Gibbs rip them a new one. But that day never occurred did it? Seeing our list is so talentless and all that...

They're a realistic and classy lot at Tigerland.

Simmonds wins the tap straight down to Foley who pops a hanball out to Cousins who burns Judd off with no pressure then just does a little kick over the top to Cotchin who speeds off then he handballs to Lids who is being chased by Augustus who falls over because he is'nt balanced then heres it is the RICHO MAN comes out of nowhere and COATHANGS JUDD

It's a balmy March evening. The MCG is packed with 85,000 supporters and the umpire holds the ball aloft. The siren sounds to commence the 2009 AFL season. Simmonds wins the hit out, which lands straight into Foley's clutches, he dishes the ball quickly out in heavy traffic to a waiting Deledio, who takes off at amazing speed and draws the player towards him. Deledio times it perfectly and whips out a lightning fast handball to Cotchin, who effortlessly evades a sluggish and still overweight Nick Stevens. Cotchin spots a player out of the corner of his eye. It's Ben Cousins. Cotchin feeds the handball out to Cousins, who sidesteps Judd, takes a bounce, runs to 45m and bangs home a goal inside 15 seconds of playing time. The roar shakes the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground to its foundations and the AFL now realises that the sleeping giant is ready to permanently awaken from its seemingly perpetual slumber. People are standing in the aisles high fiving complete strangers. It feels good to be a Richmond supporter and all is well.

Of course this has been highly dramatised for effect, but the point I'm trying to make is that people are excited again. The off season has just become longer and more unbearable.
