Do you still play Aussie Rules? OR FOOTY? (for sardonic moderators)

Personally, no. I've played many other sports competitively, but never Aussie Rules outside the school yard.

I'm the classic AFL armchair warrior, having been lured by its dominant stranglehold on the Victorian press.

Yeh played all junior footy. Gave it up 2 years ago.

I played a "game" of Aussie Rules football towards the end of PE class once. I was at FF and finished with a triple zero, (emergency?) game. 0 kicks, 0 handballs, 0 anything. Personally I blame the poor delivery into the forward line.. Plus I was playing on a guy.. (everyone else on the park was a girl). :D

Played Under-12s, gave it up. Played last season for my hall, kicked a few (all total gimmes, though), going to do it again this year - wearing the number 45 on my back and with the hair sprayed red to boot.

Yeh playing under 16's atm.
Thinking of giving it up next yr cos i would be under 19's and i'm way too small.

Played in an intra house school competition in Year 11. Played as a loose man in the forward line and kicked 2 behinds and speared a centreing pass to the leading full forward before the opposition decided to man me up, then hardly touched it after that. :D That's about it for my football career though.

Played as a kid and early high school years... I was to small in late high school, and my body didn't decide to grow until year 12 when I became the perfect height and size for football, bit to late though.

Played two years junior, but buggered my knee.. I ran into a bench playing tiggy. Don't laugh. Had to give up footy and basketball :(

Am hoping to play next year thoough. I will be in reserves.

Yep, started to play Aussie Rules this year for Rockhampton Panthers in the AFL Capricornia league, been learning as I go playing in the ressies side. Great fun, and to anyone that wants to argue, tell them Aussie Rules is a harder sport to play than rugby league, I've played both and that's what I've found.;) I've got a thread going for our league here in Central QLD: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309164

Played in school (2nds team only :thumbsu:), medium defender. Unfortunately, due to the lack of tall players in my side, often ended up at FB or CHB on some monster. In year 12, I was 6ft but skinny, playing on dudes who were 6ft 2 to 6ft 4 (and bulky). Worst I conceded was 6 goals in 3 and a half quarters, after moving onto a guy who kicked 4 in the first 10 minutes (he kicked 10 straight for the match). We didn't win a game all season.

Played for 6 years between the ages of 12 and 17. I didn't grow much during that high school period, so by the time I was playing in my last year (under 17's), I was being smashed by huge man-childs.
It put me off and decided not to play the next year (which was open age, and would have been even bigger men). Sad part is, during that next year I grew about 9 inches, bulked up, and could have been a decent HFF or mid.

Used to play wing, and liked running through and getting handballs streaming into the forward 50 to kick goals... not too many during the career however, but enough for a few memories.

Yeah played seniors and juniors for a couple of my local teams, trained with the Falcons boys of 2004-05 and didn't make it. Dislocated my knee pretty badly that year and has never been the same. Lost about 10m off my kicks and slowed me down a tad.

Played for years.. Finished at an interesting club... fullback was my position. It pretty much sums the quality of my team up that I got 10 goals kicked on me one day, and still got best player on the ground. Not my fault though. Nothing you can do when the ball comes into the forward line 100 times in a 1/4.

I actually played for Collingwood (primary). umm?

'Hey Edward! My dad used to play for Collingwood... See?'

Play for school at as a Half forward, forward pocket or floating on half back. Used to be the star FF in primary school but gave it up for basketball (which I'm much better at) until this year :p
