In fact the scoreboard outcome wasn't even mentioned in the OP.
Hodge is gone. And not for just a brief holiday. Something's up with Buddy. And already their gameplan has again been shown for weaknesses by the master coach Malthouse.

Middle road side gets within 3 goals of a top side, stop the presses! By the way, if you lose by 15 points, can you really say that a team has exposed your weaknesses? Or is it just the fact that Carlton executed their gameplan well and Hawthorn were off in the first half?
