Draw a ******* line in the sand for **** sake!!!!
Whats frustrating is we are playing EXACTLY the same way we did in round 1.

No composure, we're falling into Geelong's trap of allowing them to dictate the terms and control the flow of the game.

Im pretty sure the reason Rough never fires much of a shot against the cats is because most games he gets Taylor.. This is the only game of the year where Buddy doesn't get the other teams #1 defender, he should be torching Lonergan.
No shit. We kicked long to Roughead and he had THREE Cats on him because they aren't stupid, the know hes in great form and hes our target.

Franklin needs to lead and make Lonergan accountable. Thus far he's made Lonergan look like the better player - how is that even possible?? (if GWS wants to pay this bloke 2million a year they can have him!)

3.8 at half time. We'll never learn.

I don't see anything that has changed in the way we play when under pressure v Cats.
Fumbling, handballs that miss targets or put blokes under more pressure, lack of composed decision making, goal kicking routines that haven't changed or fallen back into old habits, playing on when we should take a breath and vice versa, fwds not leading up enough, buddy expecting the ball one on one high in air, Mitchell the only one with some sense and skill.....its like put the video tape in, hit rewind and press play for the 11th time.

I don't want Rioli hurt again................Who can forget t he 1989 GF when the cats killed half of us off?????????? heavens knows what they wll do to Rioli given the chance

how easy is it for the cats, crows last year, swans in the gf to just chip the ball from half back, through the guts, under no pressure, simple little leads up. how can the coaching staff not have addressed this? I couldnt beleive what i saw at the crows prelim, thought for sure we would correct it. and now some 18 months later nothing has been done. UNACCEPTABLE

That's what we say after every time we lose to this mob.
I cant see what has changed in our approach, individually, tactically, mentally, skillwise - its like we are all 18yo playing against 28yo's.

They clinical, solid, and efficient. We not, and if we not by now when will we ?

Obviously be happier if we were 10 goals up but I am not without hope by any means. Can't see any reason why we can't improve in the second half, we are smart enough and skilled enough to work out what we need to do to beat this mob. Clarko will have plenty of advice for them at half-time ;) If we keep in touch the pressure will build on Geelong too. Bring Cyril on soon I think.

Worst half of football for the year. Admittedly Geelong put us under amazing pressure the entire half.

We were fumbling like crazy (wtf is with Lake!?!?!?) rushed everytime we get the ball, playing the game almost completely at Geelong's preferred tempo and meanwhile the Cats are simply cutting us up on the rebound through the corridor at every opportunity. Kudos to them they're willing to take risks and its paying off.

I think we can safely say Geelong's gamestyle counters our own pretty brutally but aside from Mitchell where are the rest of our onballers? Forwards except Roughead are getting towled up by Geelong's defense as per usual and our defense has been that unsure of itself that we're getting zero drive out of defense - Suckling & Birchall's absence really telling tonight.

Bottom line - Geelong are spreading better, working harder, better under pressure and more willing to take chances. We're getting outplayed.

And yet we are only 18 points down. To me, this is the positive to take out of the half. We've played poorly, let them play on their terms, been fumbly, made poor decisions, and still we are only 18 points down. Our forward line has been poor as half of them are in defence helping us run it out. Just need to get back to playing the structures we know work.

Never confidant against the Cats, but we aren't out of this game by any stretch

We will see if we really have what it takes to be a premiership side in this half
We are lucky to be only 3 goals down

Geelong have been clean and impressive. We have been average over the last few weeks but have shown with a burst of momentum we have been able to put the game away. Will be harder to do against quality oppositions but the prospect of Rioli is delicious.

Same old crap. 3 goals from the best forward line in the competition, Lake having a bit of a stinker, blah blah blah... Can't really bring myself to watch it anymore. Geelong by between 1-9 points.

I also wonder, if Geelong turn it on and win by 10 goals, won't that also kind of break the curse?

It seems, well to me at least, that we're really missing the spread and experience off half back.

Our forwards are letting Geelong's defence play to the structure they want too.

Spread and composure off half back absolutely...and it's such a huge component of our game too. So much of our attack comes from that run/spread off half back.
But that physical presence is lacking...some grunt from bailey would be welcomed.

We are also having real trouble keeping it in our forward 50 because our boys can't get down there in time when the ball is kicked down there in panic/pressure.
