Let's hope we get wet conditions against WC next week. We were so bad today we are a monty to have learnt not-what-to-do:drunk:

I think Simpkin has run his race at the Hawks and moving forward he has to make way for Woodward. The younger blokes must be played before him.

Due to injuries we are a middle-of-the-road side ATM, so the next few weeks will be more of the same crap we dished up today unfortunately, with games we would normally win convincingly now being 50/50

10 senior list players currently unavailable.
25% of our squad.

It would be nice to see Stratton, Lake, Lewis and McEvoy back next week.
Hale I guess will miss (so he would make 11)
Spangher perhaps if Stratts doesn't get up.

We are going to need to play better than we did today.

Yeah this becomes a 50/50 game. The Eagles will be playing for their season, we are playing for a top in the 4. The eagles lack of heart is pretty sad, and our lack of polish is pretty concerning.

Suckling should be an out, he is really suffering from the knee reco blues, but he won't be. I would hope Lewis, Stratton, and Spangher come in. But I suspect that we would be lucky to get one of them. Hale won't play, McEvoy I guess will come in as he 'only' had a corked hamstring. If Langford gets dropped this time, I'll be very surprised, but Hallahan might be heading for the twos if Lewis (and Hodge?) is ok.

Outs: thats really tricky, Hale maybe due to the corkie or whatever it was
Ins: ?? whos back from the ER?

Lewis for Simpkin
Stratton for Suckling (liability in defense, either move him forward of centre or back to the 2's)
McEvoy for Hale

Duryea has been struggling too

I love Spang and would like to see him get a game. I'm just really surprised that so many people are predicting him to come straight in. First, he has been out for quite a while with injury (4+ weeks?). It's pretty rare that people come straight back into the team after that rather than going down to BHH first. 2nd, even when he fit he wasn't a first 22 player. So the case to rush him back is even stranger. I know we could use the big body, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get at least a game at BHH first.

After our game last night I didn't see a single incident that would keep one of ours out of the game through suspension, think that is more wishful thinking. Ellis may miss but I think he only got a corky.

I'm making my annual Tassie trip for this game (finally to see Eagles and not North) and I'm fearful of a Hawks team breathing fire and ready to smash us. We are a dead average team and the Hawks are still the best in the business. I just hope we don't get smashed and I can enjoy the many beers afterwards.

Won't be a smashing

I hope your team loses, and loses really badly.

So there!

Is McEvoy a certainty to get back in? Could this be the long awaited debut of Lowden with McEvoy and Hale a chance to miss?

This will be another close grind I think. West Coast are not in great form but neither are we. There are two things that catch my eye, one being clearances. Even with Sewell back we just seem so average in and around a pack. I know we don't need any new players in but gee, Woodward is that player to a tee. He's like Campbell Brown in a pack and he can find space in traffic. The club must see more value in him regaining full confidence in his knee at the lower levels because he's been banging the door down for weeks.

The other is when we don't have the ball we hardly ever force the opposition into making an error. We were always good at applying pressure and having the opposition kick the ball straight back to us but it's just not happening at the moment.

Very important game coming up. Need to get the points here and we would be very certain to regain Rioli, Lake and Spangher by the next game against Carlton.

Time to see if Woody can make a contribution at AFL level.
Without Mitchell, Lewis and Rioli our midfield lacks a bit of class.
The GWS boys made our guys look a bit pedestrian. Good honest toilers but we need a bit of class to add to Burgoyne's silk.
If Lewis is back I find it hard to fit Sewell and Hallahan into the same team unless it is a very wet day at Aurora.
Note to Graeme Wright: keep looking for that classy young mid we need.
