As much as I know, the Grant has not been stopped. However, Kennett reneged on the original deal ie, go by December 2021.
Having Melino can only help garner the Support needed to ensure the Fed and State Govts get behind the project in a fulsome manner.

Merlino as VP is a sound choice, a Hawthorn man who’s diplomacy will do good things you’d assume.

Maria Lui looks like another topline candidate, and it’s good to see Ed Sill put his hand up too.

Politics is about relationships and it’s how most funding is distributed. It’s no surprise.

Gowers was meant to chair the nominations committee as part of an agreement with Hawks for Change in exchange for Gowers not to run for the board. Kennett shafted HfC and installed Nankevill as chairman. Good that Gowers is running for President along with others running for board positions. Kennetts succession plan is rightfully falling apart.

There are so many competing recipients for govt grants. All worthy but not enough to go around. Why would you willingly give money to your most ardent critic.

Jeff knows how it works and consciously wasn’t acting in hawthorns interests.

It’s over soon, I actually don’t care who as long as they put a priority on the clubs interests and don’t pick fights with the afl, other clubs or potential funders.

Don't know enough about the candidates to make an informed decision atm. Even with a vote I feel like too much of this happens behind closed doors.
Hope whoever gets these positions cares about the club and is generally able to just let the football department do their thing.
