He was hepped up on goofballs. Regretted it immediately.

Probably the worst episode of the season and it was still better than practically everything else out there. Also I'm intrigued by Rust ******* Maggie, seemed so out of character for him. The depressive intellectual creature he is, probably would have seen himself above gratification, as its a primitive urge. Two possibilities, he was so focused on the case he lost emotional control or he was testing her and she failed hence the demonstrative behaviour afterward. Either way it takes a bloody good show to have me analysing it half a week later.
Yeah the plan seems to be each season will be a new cast, new case and a new location, with the aim that each location is as big a part of the feel of the season as rural Louisiana has been in this one.
Has anyone been watching American Horror Story? Apparently that's been doing a similar approach but the same actors also play different characters each season.

Really, I can see her being a victim definitely. They have strongly hinted at it throughout the series (sure could be a red herring) and the episode 7 preview again hints at it.
At this stage they could fill the hour with Rust and Marty drinking a few beers in a bar and watching a sporting event of some description on the TV and I'd happily watch. Dialogue would be nice but not strictly a necessity.
Thoughts on what he shows Marty that causes him to lose it?
Mine is that is a photo of his daughter that was "discovered" by the now alcoholic Reverend Joel Theriot
I think the women & girl you are all discussing are part of the bigger picture of the life of one of the cops. I don't expect them to be involved in the psychoWell for starters finding out your partner is cheating and wearing dark makeup/going through a tween emo phase are not good enough reasons for people to become psycho serial killers.
And you would also have to ignore basically everything we have learnt in the first 5 eps.
Maggie might be loosely involved because she went to the school but the show is too good for some sort of cheap M.Night Shyamalan twist.
Southern bible belt old fashioned righteous copper, that's Marty , but he loves women his downfall and guilt . Lots of the bible belters in that part are super right wing , lots are end of world preppers. All carry guns , for "the good". And they are over the top do the right thing. Even though most of them are sinners like the rest of us.Looks like a TV he turns off; I have no idea...look back at how Marty reacted when the kids were found...he has a pretty strong compass of righteousness there so it could be anything.
AAH folks , we're all finding ghosts behind every door or photo or paintings , and they are not there. THEY ARE NOT THERE, I TELL YOU.Probably the worst episode of the season and it was still better than practically everything else out there. Also I'm intrigued by Rust ******* Maggie, seemed so out of character for him. The depressive intellectual creature he is, probably would have seen himself above gratification, as its a primitive urge. Was more about getting rid of Marty for good than straight out revenge. She could of banged any old random for that, but chose Rust because she knew it was something that Marty could never forgive. But have a look at Marty's wife . What a mongrel . Rust couldn't help being seduced then , she uses him as a payback to Marty. He lost control then realised very quickly that she'd fancied him , but, she normally would not have done what she did. I mean going so far as having. sex with him. That was done to create a brain explosion in her husband as payback. But Marty brought her to the end of her tether cheating again , and apparently again and again and again.
its evil and creepy like the theme song.
i hope rusty becomes a lumberjack at the end
Also, Jay Laga'aia has been mooted as a potential cast member for season 2.
Damian Lewis anyone?
He would be pretty good I reckon.
For those that have seen Fringe, I wonder if Anna Torv would work?
Yes. Robin Wright and Ben Mendelsohn. This is a shortlist of people who would definitely do the show justice in my opinion. Would have a lot to do with where season 2 is going to be filmed...
Male leads:
Ed Norton
Ben Foster
Sam Rockwell
Ben Mendelsohn
Barry Pepper
Michael K. Williams
Female leads:
Noomi Roopace
Melissa Leo
Frances McDormand
Hilary Swank
Robin Wright
yeah she's definitely got range and one of the few female leads i actually enjoy watching
i'm a little worried that outside of Rust and mainly the delivery of his monologues, this show in different actors hands will be absolutely nowhere near this seasons effect
i think they got the 8 episodes per case per season spot on
EDIT: I hope they don't go with Robin Wright.
