TIME HAS RUN OUT.

This week :
We have to get a new recruiting network....sack 'em all.

Someone has to tell Richo he is making average defenders look really good. He over-rates himself. Give him a public rocket

Someone has to tell Spud...If we don't play finals ...bye bye.

Against Brissie :
out ; hilton/pettifer/bidders/fiora/dunc
in : holland/campbo/johnson/blumfield/vardy.

And we need some spirit. Give McCartney a job. Get some attitude back into the club.

Hall would be getting close to a game with the reserves aswell.

Today Ottens should have been FF, Richo CHF, Stafford and Hall Rotating in the ruck. I just dont think our big men were in the right spots.

Maybe Ottens just needs a game with the seconds to get some form back. I know hes still injured but he was looking pretty slow and sluggish.

It's hard to admit, but when Richo limped off close to half-time, I was secretly hoping that he wouldn't be able to continue.

We just look so bad as a team when he is on the ground, it's
unforgivable. We cannot persevere with a "star" player who refuses to play team football, but who demands the ball and then uses it so badly. He will NOT protect fellow team members, he will not create space for crumbers, he leads to pockets that light won't shine on, he thinks the boundary line is his best friend. What are we doing with this guy in our "team"? Richo plays for himself and no-one else. He will not, downright refuses, to change. And to top it all off, he cannot kick. I don't care what his stats say, the man cannot kick at goal.

Maybe this is harsh, but we have looked a far better side when Richo has been watching from the stands. Why? Because we are forced to find other, more creative, better positioned and more direct avenues to goal. So let's just cut our losses, trade him, and get on with life without Richo.

Here endeth the rant.

Great Day :-((

Greg Miller has a choice to make at the end of the year.

He has to decide whether it is our recruiting staff or our development coaches who are not up to scratch (or maybe both). I know we are down on injuries, but we have no depth at all, nothing new coming up. Coburg aren't winning games, so they have nothing to lose in playing our recruits. I believe Sipthorp is playing in Coburg 2s - why isn't he playing in Coburg 1sts at least. Are the Richmond people following his progress, or have they just left him there to rot? Schulz should be playing - what have we to lose at this stage? I don't want to see the same old players running around at the end of the year as we've seen in the past. Bite the bullet Tiges and give us something.

Richo

Exactly what i said last year Deano when Richo had market value but we had to keep him because people just can't part with our favourite players.

Richo plays - we have no forward structure. Richo doesn't play - we have an even spread of around 10 goal kickers - seems pretty obvious that it's never going to work with Richo - as much as I love his efforts and his obvious love for the club.

Isn't it about time we started thinking a bit more coldly and made hard decisions and stop the mentality of we can't get rid of our favourite players, or players who demand an arm and a leg who prevent us from building depth with good trades. Last year we could have got anything for him - he's worthless as a trade now.

100% agree Froars, I mean captain custard.

Geelong and Western Bulldogs are crying out for tall forwards. Trade Richo and that flake Ray Hall for either pick 1, 2 or 3 in the national draft.

Time to make a business decision on not appease short sighted supporters who are all deluded that Richo will win us a flag. The most overated footballer in the AFL.

All very true but you just know at about round 18 when the season is long gone and we are looking at cutting our losses with him he will start leading up the centre and playing well. He will kick about 5-6 goals a game and the football department will be fooled into thinking he has actually changed his ways and is worth keeping...Then next year.....

cleanout

Reply to RODEN 18 thread!!!

From the outside looking in!!!

Every club has 5/6 propping up the list
and when injuries hit they have to get a game!!

I have watched Tiges closely + all mentioned
will need to be looked at for next year!!!

Also perhaps Rogers and Houlihan IMO!!

But on the plus side
Coggs/Tive/Neumann/Roden will be the future!!!
{with hopefully Richo + Ottens} finishing off their good work!!

Next two weeks very tough need to stay
strong or the start of the year will be wasted!!!

Go TIGERS my second favourite team +
hated watching the blues win yesterday!!!
Hate them with a passion!!!

Over + out

Yeah ... it's like chipping in on the 18th Hole when you've tanked the majority of the first 17 holes, eh Harry ... bring s you back for another round next week !!!

If Richo still has any currency at all come October, he should surely be looked at as a trade prospect. As I said in a post last week, if the Roos could pilfer No. 2 pick for a washed-up, Wayne Carey, then surely we could wrangle something early for Matthew Richardson.

This is not reactionary - this is the result of years of breakdowns, non-productivity, and even, some would argue, counter-productivity.

The Saints did it with Lockett. At one point this seemed inconceivable - two years later they were playing off in the Grand Final.

They also did it with Barry Hall - again a better player that Richo - and again they have formed the best group of youngsters in the comp, and will play finals in the next few years.

You gotta break an egg .....
