Don't get me wrong I think he's a great player and all but he seems to do a lot of stupid things and has brain fades.
What are your thoughts

A couple of examples would be nice, I'd be pretty careful about what you say on here critisizing Heater.

Not saying you're wrong, but just prepare to be ripped by a couple of people on here. haha.

Heater is a very very VERY loved player on here. I'm a lover of him aswell.

Plays like he has ADD. Wouldn't have it any other way.

When he gets the ball and there is on coming traffic he seems to just handball to no one and turns it over and sometimes does these ridiculous short kicks.
For example he was in the defensive 50 and he handballed it to I think it was Swan when someone was right on Swan's tail and Swan ended up getting caught.

haha, neither would I mate.

Love how enthusiastic he is on and off the field, must bring so much energy to the rest of the boys..

Watch him this week, he/Dids/Swan are gonna REALLY step up in the abscence of Pendles!

consistant, loyal and ultra hard working, when Ablett Jnr gets 40 odd possestions how many of those are clangers(a few), everyone makes mistakes, and he's getting better each year

He does some crazy dumb things but the majority of times he does the crazy awesome things. Always puts his body on the line, as evidenced by the collision with Kosi which was the result of this fearlessness.

Yeah, but if it comes to taking the bad with the good then I'm fine with it. He's still an asset for us.

Exactly my thoughts.

Hes one of very few that can hold their heads high after today's game.

That contest involving Kosi is the perfect marketing tool for the AFL for season 2010, it makes you want to jump onto the field and tear it up for the club you support. Was beautiful.

He has pure talent, always back him one on one.

Yes, sometimes makes silly erorrs, but boy is he good.

Only going to get better.

He and Harry O are the ONLY players who can hold their head up after yesterdays insipid performance

Can't understand what you're all going on about.

Clearly our best player, very courageous, and when the game was on, he handled severe pressure generally very well. Plenty of those vintage overhead marks under tremendous pressure.

Yes, he occasionally gives away free kicks - generally it's through over-endeavour rather than soft actions.

I'll have Heath any day - our main playmaker from defence. Without him we would have been 10 goal flogged.

You have to take the good with the bad, I suppose. We wouldn't get the awesome things we get from him without the dumb stuff.

That said, he is one of the worst decision makers (when under pressure) that I've seen on a footy field.

We all know Heater is becoming a great player, however, he does have a tendency to do stupid things or make stupid decisions when things are not going well for us.

He needs to get better in this area of his game.

Love him and his style of play!

If you want him to stop the stupid things then he will change his entire game and that will be a negative.

Exactly.

By nature Heath is a risk taker, he is hugely damaging to the opposition and one of those guys who takes the game on. You tend to find with these kinds of players that their mistakes are a bit more damaging the other way.

You need blokes like this in the team, or else you find that you have a team of weak kneed, timid footballers.

Having said that, he still has the capacity to improve as a footballer, I think as he grows and matures he will become a better decision maker and will be even more damaging than he already is.
