Ease up mate..

I just think people are getting ahead of themselves.

I would be liking it if they showed more interaction and character controllability gameplay.

It looks too much like a picture book for my liking. I'd much rather be playing MW2, MAG and possibly GT5 by the time this comes out, so unless it gets amazing reviews, i'm probably going to skip it.

Not having a go mate just seeing where your coming from.
I think every gamer would rather be playing those 3 games before Heavy Rain.

Hopefully you read this.

Have you seen the 3 minute game play footage that I posted a while ago?

Check that out and post your thoughts.

Btw (For everyone else), that trailer was awesome!

It looks like a continuation of Cage's last games, Omikron on PC and Dreamcast and Fahrenheit on Xbox. Both were flawed, but very good games and tried something different. Cage is the kind of developer who isn't afraid to do whatever is required to present the story the way he wants it to be told, usually at the cost of traditional gameplay. I think he and Kojima are similar in this way...

Anyway, I recommend trying out Fahrenheit on Xbox (original) or PC. If you hate it, then I don't think that you're going to like Heavy Rain.

I guess I'm the exception here. I want to play HR wayyy more than MW2 and though I love GT, I would still rather HR. There are gamers out there who prefer a less action based gaming experience, though I know we're in the minority.

+1 for Fahrenheit:thumbsu: 1 of the reasons why i believe i will like and be buying HR.
@scooterb if you havn't played Fahrenheit and you have a modded Xbox(original) laying around pm me and ill send you my copy.

Thanks for the offer, but I might take the advice and check out Fahrenheit on the PC.

I did a quick eBay search and couldn't find it, so I'll just download it this weekend.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the 'normal' version and the director's cut version?

Sorry to ruin the circle jerk, but i'm still not liking it.

Just because the graphics are alright, it doesn't mean that it can't fail. For all we know, the story could be a pile of shit.
I like lots of games.

Obviously not enough to call them GOTY over a trailer.

I apologise for that.
That would be why I said this "Graphically looks phenomenal and not only that it looks like the story will have just an awesomely deep, breathtaking and really gut wrenching feel to it as well."

I'm not basing this on THAT one trailer either. I have been following this since the actual game was shown (Not that tech demo stuff). My thoughts haven't wavered since either.

ALSO David Cage has said NUMEROUS times that he is going for a deep and involving story.

Did you read this? "and all fully interactive." I could spot the sections in the trailer where you could control your character. Why is it you seem to be over looking the obvious?

Well, the US version (Indigo Prophecy) was censored. They removed the interactive sex-scene in order to make an "R" rating, so maybe it's the US version with the scene put back in. I'm only guessing this, though.

OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!!

Best gameplay footage YET of Heavy Rain. God damn scooter, if you don't like this, I have no idea what will make you like this game.

Those graphics are amazing!
Pretty awesome to see how it will all work and how certain things play off others and where you can go wrong but still continue the game too. Stunning stuff.

Might i add... WOW! Was quite intrigued after first hearing reports of this game, but after viewing the latest clips it now sits as my most anticipated game. :D :thumbsu:

I always loved the 'choose your own adventure' type books when i was younger, and am stoked to see the format has been adopted and converted into the gaming platform. Would this be the first of its kind?

The release date has been pushed back until 2010, but has any specific date been set as such yet?

Big news post here.

Cage: No Heavy Rain Sequel, Demo Maybe
“I’m not sure there will be a Heavy Rain 2. I’m not a guy who does sequels, because, when you work on a story, you have something to say. It’s a response to a moment of your life and what you want to express,” he admitted. "We hope to reach a point in Heavy Rain where people will be interested in “David Cage’s next title” rather than Heavy Rain 2."

Being a writer myself, I couldn't agree more. Can't wait to get your hands on this game now? How about a demo?

"That’s currently in discussion. So yeah, that’s a possibility. At the same time, though, it’s difficult to find one scene that will represent the game and do justice to it. "

This is starting to get IN-****ING-SANE!!!!!

QUANTIC DREAM: WE CAN BETTER HEAVY RAIN VISUALS
Asked if his PS3 thriller Heavy Rain was pushing the console as far as it can go, Cage replied:

"Well, you need to keep in mind that Heavy Rain is our first title on PS3. It's not the second or third generation of games on the same platform. We've just discovered the platform right now. So yeah, there's plenty of room for improvement I'm sure.

He added: "At Quantic Dream we know we can do much better than what we do here."

From looking at the gameplay videos, I would prefer them spending all of their available time on the framerate, animations and voice acting.

The difference in polygons between the characters face when compared to everything else makes it look a bit strange, but that's no big deal because they use a lot of bloom.

I still haven't gotten around to playing Fahrenheit yet as I promised, but i'm planning on doing that this weekend.

I can't say that i'm overly excited about shifting from GRID's action into a QT story.

Framerate and animations are usually the last things to be worked on and put into a game don't think you'll need to worry about that too much in these earlier demo's.

Voice acting I haven't seen much of an issue with at all TBH, I actually thought it was fairly good from what I have seen.

With a game that is as heavily story orientated as Heavy Rain is, the voice acting is lacking.

It would be fine if it was a FPS, but it's not...

The framerate is steadily improving. Do us a favour and watch the first gameplay video and then watch the last one released. The difference is clearly noticeable. :thumbsu:

Hmm, maybe I need to watch and listen more, but I really didn't think it was all too bad.

I mean I certainly felt emotional during that GamesCom trailer and it was mainly due to the voicework getting through.

I have no doubt it's improving, just saying that devs tend to worry about perfecting the framerate until last in most cases of games.

You can take a few examples like RAGE or God of War 3 for this. You can look at pretty much any other game in (Earlyish) development too and see the awful framerates in action.

Apparentely this game is getting censored as there are sex scenes in it and very violent scenes:(

Worldwide.

No doubt this will get censored even more in aus.

Hope the developers ignore everyone and release the game uncut at least in us so i can import:)

I don't care if it gets released in aus as long as i get the uncut version
