Don't be silly. I assume it would have taken you quite a while to save $5000.
So far you have been disiplined and motivated in your saving.
You have come this far, and soon you will be able to buy your car.
Once you have saved for the rest of your car, i'm sure you will be quite proud of yourself.
Don't screw it up by risking this money. Otherwise you will be waiting twice as long for your car. It's not worth the risk, simple.

Patience is a virtue....... it's the quality of doing what is right, and avoiding what is wrong. :thumbsu:

yeah i understand that but its like 20 shifts of work less i have to do if i get this bet. 20 shifts less. that would be so damn sweet to avoid. i have a car already so it wouldnt be like the greatest loss in the world. the new car is more of a "want" than a "need". but yeah im going to wait for the final team sheets to decide.

Well it's obvious that you have worked very hard to save this money.
Don't disappoint yourself by risking your hard earned cash, you will regret it if you lose.
Take a look at your thread title, you obviously have doubts and concerns about losing it, because if you didn't, you would just go ahead and bet it without starting a thread. But hey, it's your money.

What do you guys think of my chances? Is it worth the bet? At $1.65 I make a $3000 profit towards a car I'm saving up for.
fair bet crawf and vandi are out BUT

a team that has franklin roughhead williams and hodge anything could happen. Franklin is the next Reiwoldt.

Ive tipped brissy this weekend.

A better bet is essendon in adelaide at 3.50 you would have 15,000 plus.

You can plod along your entire life and live a safe sheltered life, but you will never get anywhere unless you gamble. Throw caution to the wind and put your house on it.

is betfair only online?
They do have a website. www.betfair.com... but to bet on games when theyre in progress (footy and cricket and stuff) you have to ring them up for some reason. Good thing about it though is that you can lay off, and guarantee yourself to win money no matter who wins. I find them a bit more user friendly and customer oriented than the Tote and stuff.

Geessus you Dawk supporters get off to a positive start!:D

Even the Blues reckon they are a rough chance!

But test R1 with a $5 dollar feeler and get one of the other players mates to put it on for you;)

Could put the lot on Dawks missing the eight regardless of the odds the return is safer than houses (in Frankston):thumbsu:

Don't put big money on during the first few weeks, especially the first round, especially on favourites. It is so difficult to predict and there is no real form to go on.

If you have to have a bet put a small amount on the outsiders as they tend to get up more often due to the unpredictability of early season.

More money then cents.

I'll offer you 1000 to 1 on your $5k. All you have to do, is pick the number in my head. It's between 1 and 1,000,000

Good luck :thumbsu:

i'm with the guy that said there is no form to go on in the first few rounds.
you'll find better games and odds during the season (not too long to wait)
have a bet on the BMW (horse race), desert war is a special at 3 bucks it's had a real good run lately

Putting big money on footy games is a surefire way to lose a lot of money, don't risk it mate. Limit yourself with footy that's for sure, too many variables can happen in the opening rounds, later in the year, it still stays unpredictable but at least you'll have form to gauge your choice on, don't gauge your tip on pre season form, it's a definite way of losing your money.

That's why you get on Betfair. Back high, lay low, and you can guarantee yourself a win. Footy is such an up and down game, it's easy to do.

no form to go on? but the lions were in the wizard cup grand final. they have been far more tested than hawthorn. i think lions are a certainty.

please tell me what you think about my perspective on them coming into this game.
