Ok, so i have the beautiful purple bike helmet (i keep going to call it a stack hat, but we dont call them that anymore do we!), now all i need is the beautiful purple bike!

It has to be purple, and it has to be a mountain bike. (dont know why i just like 'em better)... Now Roh, dont go give me advice on some great big Mongoose worth $9k, i just want a bike to ride around Princes Park, etc, and take with me on hols as a leisurely form of entertainment and excercise, not an expensive investment!

So where do i look and what am i looking at damage wise ($)?

You can pick up a fairly cheap Mountain Bike at the K-Marts, Big W's etc etc for about $150 - $300, depending what 'features' you want.

Sorry, can't help - never ridden a pushbike in my life.

But, make sure you get one with one of those little baskets on the front with the plastic flowers attached. Not to mention the flag on the back.

You expect me to buy a SECOND HAND one? ;)

Thanks for reminding me though cos we need to buy a pool table... hopefully before the weekend would be good so i can teach this real dumb friend of mine how to play!!! :D

What sort of max price limit are you looking at?

There are bikes that you describe which could set you back as little as $150 .. all the way up to $2000 and more.

If you give me a max price, I could put you in the right direction.

PS - Buying a cheapo $150 piece of sheet from Kmart will break on you.

I bought a green mountain bike and spray painted tank camouflage colors on it. I call it 'Sturmy' for the obvious reasons.

Recently I noticed someone had done something similar with bright neon colors. Looks cool. Done randomly. Get part of the spokes, tires - all of it, but the seat.

BB66, don't knock yourself out looking for the perfect purple one. Get some rattle cans, and wax artsy.

Peace,

You can cheap Giant bicycles. I've never really looked at one but Shogun is another bike that offers good value and performance.

The good thing about ladies bicycles are they are cheaper than male ones.

That's good value at about $350.

Ditto for this at $400.

Best bet is to stick around brands such as Trek, Giant and Apollo. I've found there is two really good bike shops in Chapel St that cater for every buyer.

Well, $250 would be fantastic but how crappy are we talking here? I was thinking i'd maybe layby if i found the one i love.... to be honest i think i'll be hard strapped finding a purple one..... :( Um, if i dont want to spend more than say, $600?

Do you really have a purple beautiful helmet too BB?? Its not a common thing!

Hmmm... 2 BB's, both with a purple bike helmet each... what goes on there!!
