gday everyone,

im currently completing year 12 and im doing media units 3 & 4...

My latest outcome has just been assigned to me and its criteria is a 4 - 10 minute movie of any genre.

Now i have a pretty solid idea. My mates and I have a pretty competitive AFL dreamteam league going this year, infact have now for about 3 or 4 years, so i decieded i will make the 'Aurion Dreamteam Show' - much like channel 9's The Footy Show. (I have recieved permission from AFL Dreamteam to do this).

Ive planned to do some of the following, however nothings set in stone yet, im just brainstorming;
- Film something like Sams 'Street talk' around the school at a lunch time.
- Have 3 panelist (unlike TFS, the panelist arnt players they are coaches from our DT league).
- Have 2 hosts?
- Read out the weeks Dreamteams for our league, whos playing who, who will win along with the Ins and Outs
- Talk about the ladder
- Have a tool of the week type segment.

I dont really intend on changing the base of the idea however i would like some ideas or input from you guys. It would be much appreciated and it doesnt bother me if you think the idea is complete rubbish or you feel the need to right up a whole script for me haha.

So if you can think up, adjust or can think of any current segments or ideas that we can run with or if you have any ideas it would be much appreciated, keeping in mind that it is a school assignment and cant be any more than 10 minutes.
What set up should i go with?
What segments i should/shouldnt use?
Is it a crap idea?
Anything else?

Thanks in advance!

C4L, nah it doesnt have to be a movie, the criteria is pretty broad and it pretty much can be any genre, just has to be between 4- 10 minutes.

Wow! you must be some sort of genius aye?
Nah not really, i do it so i dont drop out of skool and try and get a good enter, coz i dont wanna end up like those bogans... anywho, i thought most people who do yr 12 would do atleast one of those subjects, doesn't make me a genius:confused:

that's a lot to fit in 4-10mins.
Agree, going through the INs and OUTs of each side will take at least 10 mins all by itself. Well it will if it's any good. The key to this thing will be doing at max 4-5 segments - otherwise anything you do will be rushed and lack any substance.
I reckon you could try to get a guest spot/interview with a succesful DT'er for one segment.
Will try to think of some more for you.

Oh and Big_Tazz you think people who do media will turn out bogans do you? The fact of the matter is, some people just don't like the same boring as shit subjects that you do... and like to do something creative. If they enjoy it and do well in it then they'll probably get a better enter score than the people sitting in physics hating life anyway.

make sure your panelists throw in some gags about gettin' cheap stats.

here's are few:
- Bartel has a habit of falling on top of packs for the easy 4pts :thumbsu:
- Carrazzo doesn't mind recieving the one out the back :thumbsu:
- Heath-Rhyce-Heath-Rhyce-Heath-Rhyce-Heath-Rhyce-Heath :thumbsu:
- Gilbee kicks it to himself before a kick-in :thumbsu:

thanks for the ideas...

yeah i understand that 10 minutes in the scheme of things is not alot of time at all and unfortunatly its something i have to find a way to work around..

I did media in year 12 (3 years ago) and it definatly helps doing a movie on something you love. i did a documentary oh oz hip hop. The only problem with yours is i don't think you can have a good narrative for this type of show/movie in under 10 minutes. Personally i think you'd be better off to do a mocumentary style film where you create a few characters to follow who devote their whole life to DT. you could make it very funny and at the same time actually tell a story. i just think that a DT show wouldn't work with your time frame.
Also mocumentaries are very easy to storyboard.
