help please for a mum - PS2 query

can one of you please help out a non game-literate mother

i heard you can play ps 1 games on a ps 2 but are there any snags?i was told you need have a ps 1 controller?

Yes you can play playstation 1 games on a ps2 with any controller. All you need to have is a ps1 memory card, i think.
