Help: PS3 or Xbox 360

I know everyone has their own individual preference regarding controllers. But which is a better machine? Will there be games available only on one console?
Help a brother out.. Value and controlers arent an issue for me. I like both controls and have enough cash to get either. So help me out

Depends on what you are looking for, PS3 will be the machine that outlasts the XBOX 360, as seen with the PS2 and the XBOX which came out years after the PS2 but faded out soon after even with all the fanfare.

If you are looking for a system for the next couple of years then go for the XBOX 360 but the PS3 will be the best system after that for at least 10 years.

The games aren't a whole lot different, most PS3 games are available on the XBOX 360 and vice versa with a few exceptions.

The bonus with the PS3 is the Blu-Ray Disc player built in with it and the ability to go Full 1080p with a Full HDTV.

If you are going with the XBOX 360 elite then you will get the extra memory and the slightly better graphics for the next couple of months to years.

The list only had exclusives on it as games that come out on both shouldn't affect your choices.

Blu-Ray is an advantage. but with the 360 you can buy the HD-DVD addon.

How do you know the original poster like racing so much, you have included 3 of the 7 games as racing games(I don't know what PGR is), you also forgot to mention that even though the XBOX might have better online you also need to pay for it where the PS3 has free internet access, also with the motion sensing at the moment it is pretty piss poor but as creators come up with better ways to utilise it, it will become more like the Wii than not.

EDIT: On the online, I just managed to find an article comparing the XBOX 360's to the PS3's, I havent read it all yet so I dont know the verdict but it should be an interesting read:

Some of the game on the XBOX 360 have far better graphics at the moment but games like COD4 certainly seem to see the PS3 coming back to the XBOX 360 in that area.

I have both an xbox 360 and a Playstation 3. I love my children equally but i initially got the ps3 because:
built in wireless
free online
60GB HDD
Built in blu-ray
High def with HDMI

The games on the 360 are much better atm but it is hard to compare seeing as though the ps3 has only been out for such a short amount of time. When Metal gear solid. final fantasy and time crisis (oh yeah, she's back) come out it should be more of a level playing field. The Ps3 has fantastic multimedia features and the internet interface (with which i am typing this message) is great too.

you should buy a 360 as it has better games then the PS3 (at present). If you like great online experiences I'd suggest 360 again even though it isn't free.

I have both, I play both on a HDTV and can safely say their is *** all difference in graphics, if anything Microsoft have been able to get more out of their machine than Sony and the 360 slightly outdoes the PS3 in alot areas.

If you are looking for a multimedia console + a gaming console then it is PS3, if you are a hardcore gamer and want your machine for gaming only then the 360 wins hands down. This garbage talk about how the PS3 graphics are better is rut, their is no difference.

I play both currently but probably spend 70% on the 360 as the choice of games and quality far outweighs the PS3.

A silly man (like me) would only purchase a PS3 atm over the 360, give 3-4 years until Sony can complete with the 360 on all levels.

Yes the last one came out on xbox.

This time they've got a contract saying the PS3 and 360 version have to be released at the same time.

Further, the 360 will have episodic content available to download, and that is exclusive to the 360. It will not be on the ps3. Apparently the episodic content will be pretty major too, supposed to be about 20 extra hours of gameplay. If you love GTA, go the 360.

GTA will be released on 360 at the same time as the PS3. Difficulties in coding it for the ps3 actually delayed the game allegedly, so 360 owners had to wait as well to make it a dual release.


And Couglan is right. While games like Bioshock (also not on ps3) look better, halo has been designed to run perfectly in online multiplayer. So addictive. Surely has to be GOTY for the sole reason you'll be playing it for years. Online multiplayer halo just owns.

there is a significant announcement of the ps3 next week that will sway a lot of ppl towards the ps3 - i am sorry i cannot say what it is as i will get in the crapper in a big way but I do work in the industry and i think its great.
