Read in the paper that you boys are wearing the Old Easts jumper in Heritage Round (Round 14).
I am quite pleased with it my self (I actually sent that design to the club during the preseason ), but what do you guys think of it?

It's alright. Dunno about the Coasters wearing State of Origin jumper though, ridiculous really. It's supposed to represent the West Australian born players.

Can't believe the eagles are allowed to wear the state jumper. I know they won 2 flags with a state side, but it's ridiculous. Talkback radio would be going into melt down if we were wearing it.

That is not exactly like the 1979GF one that we are supposed to be wearing though.

As much as it disgusts me, the only positive to come out of the debacle that is Fremantle wearing that filth, would be for the same result. God knows how I'm going to support the team in blue and white over the team in red and white.

Lot of people see the Eagles wearing the state jumper as the pathetic grab for a history they don't have as exactly that. Many have said it including even Langdon on radio Eagles but what does it matter ..... Eagles inc. do whatever the hell they like and get away with it.

It's happened so many times now you just get numb to it after a while......

Reckon this is the go isn't it - the Old Easts jumper, Swannies play the role of South Freo with a South Melbourne 'V' jumper instead and we recreate the Fremantle Derby GF of 1979....

Just a question, because I seriously dont know. Is Fremantle Footy Club directly linked to South Freo? Or are we linked to both South and East Freo? Is it like Port Adelaide moving into the AFL from SANFL but we have combined both South and East Freo?

No direct links , it was set up deliberately like that by the WAFC to protect their cash cow.

The original board had people appointed from everywhere bar the Freo clubs and a CEO who knew Hockey , not Footy.

You would have a hard time convincing me that if the Souths and East Presidents had been on the board at the start that We wouldn't have sprung free a heap of the original Freo eagles stars and they certainly would have clarified the Father/son rule so any Freo boys would have been linked to us only.

In theory, neither as it goes back further than that. The usual heritage jumper is a reproduction worn by the original Fremantle Football Club. Club was one of the original teams in what became the WAFL and eventually split to form South, East and North Fremantle.
