According to Brett Burton, quoted in Adelaide Now, Neil Craig is not a "dull scientific boffin, but a cheeky funny man."

"..if you guys could step inside the four walls of this footy club, you would see that he's humorous, he's cheeky ... he is a great person to be around and he is fun and we find him enjoyable..":):D:D:D:p

Well, that's nice. I'm so glad the coach and player group are having such a gay time. The supporters certainly are not.

I am a Craig supporter and have tried not to join in the chorus of criticism, but even the staunchest of supporters must have misgivings about some of his decision making.

I will give NC the benefit of the (considerable) doubt and presume that he has good reasons for what appear to be questionable decisions. BUT HE NEEDS TO TELLS US WHAT IS GOING ON. FFS NEIL, SPEAK TO US!

For an educated man, his communication skills seem to need a bit of work.

I reckon, since so many people "in the know" have said he's smart and an OK bloke, that he's actually like that.

He is articulate, so with all that it probably means he's hamstrung in revealing stuff.

Whether by himself or others, who knows. Or maybe just doing as other clubs do, since most clubs are so soo bland in revealing modern structure stuff to the "average joe", who probly just wouldn't "get" modern footy structures and requirements anyway since playing raw youngsters and "drop doughty" and "kick it down the guts" are the oft-mentioned saviours of our club.

5AA and commentators should take their fair share of blame too, they've dumbed it down for what they think is their audiences IQ level.

Givent that one of the more common criticisms of NC is that he is too much of a boffin / schoolteacher, losing the players etc, what the F is wrong with a player pointing out that there's a bit of fun around the place?

Good grief - dammned if you do, damned if you don't.

Absolutely right. As far as I'm concerned, Neil Craig does the right thing by showing a boring public front while clearly showing a different side to his players. No need to give a media always desperate for the next big controversy any reason to have any dirt on you.

OK by me, although to disclose some of the complex/inside-stuff now and then might make (some) of us suporters feel better.

Spot on about the media; they're in a business and it's about selling controversy as that's interesting and is what sells. Sometimes it's even nearly true.
