Do you Port fans out their want Shaun Burgoyne to be a succesful player for the remainder of his career and only you guys know his true potential as a player will he still be in his prime?

He's been injured for what seems like the past two years. I don't see him being better then what he has been, which can be amazing but can be inconsistant.

I don't wish him success. He left our clubwhen we were down, so he can get stuffed.

Shaun is a guy that gets some leniency only because we don't officially know what went on. But I rest my hat on many accounts that point towards him being a giant piece of shit.

The fact that he is at Hawthorn, means I wish him no success.

Personal success, sure, hopefully the man shows he was JUST worth the purchase. But I hope he never plays in a flag and I'm confident Port will snag another before the brown and gold do.

He will reach better heights if his knee stays sound..... and who knows how many games he'll get with it.

Put it this way,

I am going over to Melbourne for the Port vs Hawks Game.

I hope he goes away more hurt than what he has been recently.

He left us when we were down, and though I wouldnt wish an injury upon anyone, I wouldnt mind Thomas to roughen him up a bit.

Don't care. I just want to see the payers we got for him playing better than he is, don't wish him harm, but, I'd rather see us playing well than watching him play sh*t.

Was close to my favorite player at port.

I'm fairly apathetic to be honest.

:D Well said.

I want to see him do well for the hawks purely so that the country can better realise (through the well publicised victorian teams) just how good a player we developed at port.

Will he reach his best again?

Played quite injured throughout 2008, and missed more than half of last season, and has missed a third of this season, and will be 28 when this season is over with.

Purely going by age, you'd think his absolute top line form is behind him (eg 2006 and 2007), however if he can get his fitness right and have a lot of midfield support from teammates (as well as push himself to his limit), I'd say he can have another season (if not more) as good as his previous bests.

Used to be my favourite player.

Pissed at him for sooking like a bitch because he didn't get the captaincy though (which means we made the right choice with dom), and acted like a prima donna during his last season and a bit at port, which lessened my liking of him. Also left the club when we were atrocious in 2008/09.

But yeah, would like to see him do well at the hawks to show off what we developed, but he's gonna need a lot to go right for him in order to get back to his peak (luck with injuries, midfield support, work ethic).

His absolute best is as good as there is in my opinion.

Nah i want him to rip up except against us, and i think he will, he is an absolute joy to watch when playing well. If he is fully fit i think playing alongside Hodge and Mitchell he will quickly become close to a top 10 player. In 06 07 he was awesome but not recognized outside this state, going by they way he played in his second game for the hawks that will change soon.
