It's more a social thing. If you go to a party or a function most of the attendees will be drinking and people do it to socialize.

Alcohol also makes you more confident. I know you've heard this a million times from other posters but it is true.

I drink because I like it. I like being able to have a beer and talk with mates or socialize with other people.

Umm imy best friend actually quit drinking [which was a massive suprise as she was a binge drinker] so i don't look down on them nor judge them. It's just a bit strange that you don't drink, as you are a 17 year old boy.
