Is there a rule which says numbers have to be 1 up to how ever many are in the squad?

You would think numbers like 88 or 99 would get some interest.

Don't think there is a league rules as such. I think Collingwood have a policy of only using the numbers 1 up to the number of senior listed places; skipping only 42.

Harry Taylor wore number 85 for part of a game after getting his jumper ripped. I think it was some sought of clash/heritage jumper so I suppose they didn't bother making too many spares. The only reason I can think of 85 being used is because they numbered the spares according to their size.

Although not player worn, in 2009 Geelong sold special heritage jumpers with 150 on the back, they were extremely popular and sold out very quickly.

Harry Taylor ripped his jumper and came out with a really high number once, can't remember what but think it was 7x or 8x?
Was 85 from memory. First one got blood on it then the second one ripped so had to wear one of the Bankers guernsey's
