The team is:
B: Jason Torney, Ben Rutten, Nathan Bassett
HB: Andrew McLeod, Scott Stevens, Nathan van Berlo
C: Martin Mattner, Simon Goodwin, Michael Doughty
HF: Tyson Edwards, Nathan Bock, Chris Knights
F: Bernie Vince, Scott Welsh, Ian Perrie
1R: Ben Hudson, Robert Shirley, Scott Thompson
Int: Jonathon Griffin, Brett Burton, Richard Douglas, John Hinge

Emerg: Ken McGregor, Darren Pfeiffer, Luke Jericho

In: Hinge, Welsh

Out: Porplyzia (knee), Reilly (ankle)

I feel awful for saying this, but I'm disappointed. I wanted to see Pfeiffer get a go. I don't rate Hinge, he's just looked like an average SANFL player with no hope of making it in the big league. That said, I congratulate him for reaching his first AFL match, and I hope he can defy my judgment and put in a blinder.

All hope for Pfeiffer is not lost. With Goodwin, Burton and Welsh still not definites, he might just sneak in. I doubt it though.

I'll post my thoughts in a minute.
I'll post my thoughts right now. Not happy! Really wanted to see Pfeiffer make his debut, but due to the fact Welsh came up that ruined his chance.

Vince starting on the ground is hard to believe given his performance last week. However Burton being named on the bench gives me hope that Pfeiffer still might get the call up.

I think we have to start throwing new young players in. I would like to see Kenny back in this week though. Maybe Pfeiffer deserves a game too?

Still looks like a good squad even though 10 of our first choice players are injured

lets look at it as a positive!!

GO HINGEY!!!
Yeh I like Hinge, could develop into a handy player. It will be good to see him make his AFL debut and best of luck to him. Many thought he was lucky to even remain on the list but he’s had a big pre-season and with his good form with Glenelg he’s given the selectors no choice but to reward him. Let’s hope he actually receives decent game time though.

Can’t hide my disappointment though; really wanted to see Pfeiffer debut. :( This was the perfect time to make his debut as we'll have many players returning soon. Hopefully he hasn't missed the boat.

I draw parallels between that decision and the move to reward players after their poor performances in round 1. Bernard gets a chance to bounce back. Hopefully he does because we need everything we can get atm.

Yeah slightly disappointed Daz didnt get a run but itll happen soon. Despite what some people might say I think its good that Hinge is debuting this week. Lets see what the kid can really do, of curse we cant expect too much but if he puts in a solid game ill be happy enough. If 1 player does happen to pull out Id say Daz will get a run.

Agree with the Vince decision being very baffling. He looked far too small and slow for AFL footy last weekend, but with the Hinge decision. He deserves his opportunity and lets hope he takes it with both hands.

Dont worry Drummond, Pfieffer will get his chance and Im sure he'll be a gem

This is how we'll match up with the Collingwood team then more than likely.

F: Vince, Welsh, Perrie
B: Lockyer, Prestigiacomo, Cox
HF: Edwards, Bock, Knights
HB: H.Shaw, Clement, R.Shaw
C: van Berlo, Goodwin, Doughty
C: Pendlebury, Toovey, Thomas
HB: Torney, Stevens, McLeod
HF: Maxwell, Cloke, Didak
B: Mattner, Rutten, Bassett
F: Swan, Rocca, Johnson
Foll: Hudson, Shirley, Thompson
Foll: Fraser, O’Bree, Dick

I/C: Griffin, Burton, Douglas, Hinge
I/C: Bryan, O’Brien, Burns, Davis

ON PAPER we have it but thats certainly not always the case on the field.

It's reflective more of the personnel we're missing than anything else. I thought Porplyzia played as bad, if not worse, than Vince last week btw.

Good to see that you did acknowledge that Hinge has earnt his chance with good SANFL form though Drummond. :thumbsu:

It's up to Pfeiffer though now mate. He just has to play so well that Craig has no other choice other than to pick him.

If he really wants it, I'm sure he will. :thumbsu:

He has shown solid form and deserves an opportunity.....I put huge question marks over his future though, huge...

Pfeiffer's only played the 1 game this season, has he not?
I can certainly understand why we picked Hinge. He's been very good all year.

I really like Pfeiffer too, but I would have been very surprised had he been picked ahead of Hinge this week.

I have never rated Hinge but hopefully he has a blinder on debut, good to see he has finally cracked it.. it means he is still working hard and his SANFL form has been solid going by reports.

I didn't really think Pfeiffer would play as he has only played 1 SANFL game this season.

how b.vince comes out and plays in reply to his efforts last week will give us a clearer indication of whether he has the tools for league footy or not...

some say he is got STAR written all over him, some (quite a few) say DUD...

after a bump in the road-last week, i'd like to hope he's stayed ultra positive and trained his absolute @ss off on the track all week...through injuries he has kept (what otherwise would of been a certain dumping) his spot, now lets hope he can show N.C., his teammates and the fans that he has got what it takes...it doesn't have to be 5 goals in a qtr but just a couple of super-efforts that we can all hang our hats on...

get behind the lad...

Hinge is more match hardened but considering Pfieffers only played one SANFL game to be named an emergency will only encourage him.

No doubt his chance will come.

Hinge .......I'll reserve judgement???

His disposal is real iffy AP under pressure .....he has a very good attack on the ball ......good hands and a great great leap.

Good luck to the kid

Hingey has been consistent in the SANFL for around 12 months now, DEFINETELY deserves a game ahead of Pfeiffer.

Darren has more talent, but I think Hinge could be a real solid player for the AFC.
