Hird vs Judd

Both greats of the game, I'd say Hird more influential than Judd though so far, by the end of Judds career could be different!

I can't address this poll objectively as I'm just ridiculously biased. Hird is the best player I've ever seen bar none, and as good as Judd is, I can't see him finishing his career at the same level.

all depends on his next few years i guess, at this stage hird has had a better career tho.

As a player they will end up pretty close, Hird will be the much more respected player though and will be remembered as better.

Judd has more individual accolades than Hird and he's not even finished playing yet.

They're closer than some people think. Judd was/is/will be an out and out gun, as was Hird.

From a purists perspective, then Hird. He wasn't as gifted athletically as Judd or many others, but he always seemed to have so much time and space. He was also a great reader of the play.

Judd is no doubt the better athlete though and a better contested ball winner than Hird.

It's a toss up.

Just about equal in terms of playing ablity but if I had to choose right now, Hird by a bees dick, both had the uncanny ablity to sense the big occasion and perform when they knew the game was up for grabs.

That element of a players game is a hallmark of a champion.

Hird just, but Judd by careers end. What is he 26?
At Carlton he is like a good bottle of wine. 3 years - 3 B&F's 3 AA, AA Captain, Brownlow. He's getting better with age. H's now the best contested, clearance player in the game. Looks set for a massive year by all reports.
