what do you guys think about this? i dont want them to come in personally. dont think anyone judged on last weeks efforts deserved to be dropped... and i dont think there was any injuries other then lovett before the game... maybe there is an injury i dont know about?

As much as I would like to see Nash back in the AFL side, I'd give another month in the 2's to get his fitness base up! Hislop would add another hard body along JJ in the midfield! I would love to see Hislop come in but I cant find out to drop for him!

As much as we like to talk aboit it, the coaching staff know a lot more than we do and would have their reasons to bring in and drop certain players

One word for the selection panel to consider STABILITY. We are never going to play consistent winning footy with players in and out each week. Neither Davey or Houli are likely to be dropped on form so that would give us 4 players in single figure game experience. Did anyone see St.kildas performance with an inexperienced side Saturday night?

I'd give them both an extra week at least. Hislop has been in and out with suspension and Nash is just getting back to it and might struggle as many do second week back, especially if he has to step up to senior pace.

Nash is the type of player we could do with when we play at the G though. Has the skills and vision to kick it long and accurately so we can play more direct.

Well we cant give them another week in the VFL as Bendigo have a bye this week. I could possibly see Hislop getting a game as he hasnt been out with any injury problems so his fitness level would still be pretty good despite missing games through suspension. It would surprise me if Nash is selected this week but in saying that it may not be too long until he is in the side. Young blokes with beautifull disposal on both sides of their body need to be in the side

Hislop definite chance but let nash run around at BB a bit more and get his fitness up, we are not hit real hard by injuries so no need to rush people back, let them get form at BB first.

Keeping the changes to a minimum would be good if we can.

dont really agree with that, yes the future is important and we are rebuilding however we have already put 3 first year players into the team (jetta,,davey, houli) so i think thats enough for now. campo wont go either, sheedy was happy with his game as he said straight after the game on saturday night so he will stay.. the only possible out is dyson and i for the first time this season was happy with how he played..

i dont want any outs just yet, wait til someone has a poor game, then consisder dropping them, i dont want players dropped when they play well.

and as much as a lot of you dont want to admit it, campo did pretty well for us saturday and i want him in the side

Hislop for Houli in a few weeks time.. Give them both same gametime.. Houli will need a full game at VFL level soon just to keep his fitness levels up...

I'd prefer the line up to be unchanged, but if a player was to make way for Hislop, id say Dyson, or maybe Houli....but i'd be leaning more towards Dyson.

I 2nd that, is it because you don't like his haircut or what? Maybe it's his raking left foot and obvious pace that gets your nose out of joint? TOG and you, kelvin_sheedy are his biggest enemies at the moment.


While I thought Hird was at his most brilliant last Saturday and I think it's fantastic he's played every game this season, maybe this week would be the best opportunity for a rest. I know this suggestion might come off as arrogant or cocky but I think with the run of big games after this week against Sydney, West Coast and Port, I think this would be beneficial for Hird and the team.

I don't think Nash would be quite up to AFL standard yet and I also don't think Hislop deserves to be promoted after only playing one game since his 2 week suspension. Can anyone tell me how Loneran or Reimers game last weekend? Maybe one of these two could come in for Hird.

I just watched the game again on Fox this morning and he was unsighted for the first 3 quarters.

One clanger kick to the forward line that Merret dropped and Lucas crumbed to goal is all I noticed.

The bias here are with those that are willing to give him more chances. He's had his fair share - not delivered and it's time to see what the likes of Hislop, Dempsey etc can give us.

Before the year started I said that we can make the finals if the likes of Winderlich, Dyson, Nash and Cole step up. I was hoping he could take the next step but it's obvious that is unlikely to happen. I wish that I am wrong though.

He's basically reffering to any youngster that hasn't had that much of a go compared to Dyson, not just Dempsey.

Dyson is not quick. He has an awkward running style which makes him look quick, but he isnt. Dyson is overrated, his disposal is average, cant find the footy and isnt hard enough. Give Hislop a go. Dyson contributes very little.

No but we are a chance to play finals still. Lets play the best possible team at this stage. If we lose a few more and the season is as good as over then play kids for the sake of playing kids as your suggesting
