As part of the marketing for Absolution, Square Enix will be releasing a stand alone Sniper Challenge game on PSN and XBLA. Titled Hitman: Sniper Challenge.

Currently the only way to redeem is going to be via a pre-order, no retailers in Aus have been announced as of yet though. Likely to at least be an EB bonus though. Will probably eventually be purchasable too.

GAME have announced via twitter that if you pre order with them you get the sniper challenge for free, as well as other exclusive dlc.

November 20 release date in the USA, so i would say the 22nd here.

Looking forward to this game, been 6 years since Blood Money was released so it's about time lol.

From watching the gameplay and trailers, it looks a totally different game to previous title's, graphics are a lot better, the AI is a lot better, but they do look like they are going away from what made the previous Hitman games so good, like Splinter Cell Conviction, which was an awesome game, but very different to the other SC games.

Newest trailer, dubbed 'Saints'. It may be CG, but damn it looks good.

Not a fan of the Instinct system so really happy that you can turn it off. The gameplay footage has me excited. I remember playing Blood Money over and over again just to try different ways of completing the missions.
Just checked the Hitman Absolution facebook page and it looks like the newspaper is back!

Always enjoyed reading the newspapers after each mission.

Starting to feel better about this. Will definetely be playing with Instinct mode turned off. Also forgot about the newspaper from the old games. Was a nice touch, glad to see it still in the game

Makes sense that, when dressed as a mechanic, the other mechanics might realise you're not one of them but the cops don't.

I want to watch this SOOOOOOO badly. But I think for the sake of not spoiling any levels, I can't.

Have resisted everything but the announcement level (which looks average anyway) so far and I think I'm going to be the better for it in the end as I want this to be completely fresh to explore.

Tempted, but will resist.:(

New Deluxe Professional Edition has been announced for Hitman: Absolution. Too bad it's $60 more than the Professional Edition of the game, as I am loving the statue.

DELUXE PROFESSIONAL EDITION ($148 for PS3/360, $138 for PC):

thanks mate.

My wife is taking our babby interstate for 2 weeks in August and I was badly hoping there'd be a good game released around then - Assassins Creed or this would have been perfect
Sleeping Dogs might be something to look at. Open World game based in Hong Kong. Has been getting decent buzz, should at least be a good story.

Or maybe Darksiders 2, hack and slashy type game with tropes from Zelda, God of War and many other games. Unashamedly a homage to the devs favourite games and thus creates something that can be a very fun mix of a lot of great titles.

Both come out on the 16th of August.

nice one! 16th Aug is the date she leaves. Good work, I'll check them out. Sleeping Dogs particularly sounds right up my alley :thumbsu:

Really like the look of the newest installment, minus the instinct system. I was annoyed they had changed the voice actor for 47, but I assumed it would have been for some strange reason. Had no idea the actor was canned. I thought his voice fitted 47 perfectly. If this game resembles SS:Conviction or the upcoming SS in any way I will be bitterly dissapointed. The tagging system is an abomination.

I have played maybe 30mins of Hitman in total across the series. Maybe time to get it.

Madness. You've missed out. They were brilliant.

Been waiting for an updated Hitman for ages so this game is good news. From the short clips though I don't like some of the new features and I echo the thoughts of some on the impact system. Being able to see through walls and objects like a superhuman is not Hitman. Reminds me of detective mode in the Batman games. Will be turning that off. Not a fan of the point shooting either. Another dumbed down feature.

Perhaps due to popular demand (IO have already bowed to public pressure on Hitman once recently), David Bateson comes back as Agent 47's voice.

Today, Hitman: Absolution developer IO Interactive announced that long-time voice actor David Bateson will return to voice Agent 47.

Bateson, who has voiced the suited assassin since 2000, was previously not slated to play the role. Brand Director Jon Brooke comments: "IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get."

Also a pretty awesome online mode for Absolution, that will feature custom contracts. Basically a 'choose your own kill' mode, where you compete with your friends to better complete a contract.

While it still seems relatively linear to how the world is planned out by the devs at the end of the day (just that you/someone else gets to choose who the target/s are). Imagine if they take this concept and give you a Garry's Mod like world of creativity to create exactly what you want, when you want and how you want!
