Have to be a compassionate release....fairly certain he had a non parole period of at least twenty years for the Moran/Caine hits.
True mate.......bit not so much on compassionate grounds. This would have been pre determined as part of a deal struck when he lagged on his mates!!!! He had a minimum non parole period of 19 years dating back to his conviction in 2005. I'd say he probably had 5 or so years taken from the bottom of his sentence for his "co operation" .......which would fit the time frame.

I would honestly hope it's not the case, because unless he is on death's door, Faure has proven that regardless of age, he is determined to remain 'relevant' to the Melbourne crime scene.

Anyone remember the creepy bearded guy from the first Underbelly, referred to as "The Driver"? His real name couldn't be used for legal reasons. Perhaps it's him?

Not for nine years though surely?

No, but the last one I mentioned, the psych case, I wouldn't be surprised if he spends virtually his whole sentence like that.

He almost stabbed a prison officer to death at Barwon and seriously injured another he then almost beat another one to death at Port Phillip (with a cricket bat). He had just been transferred back to Barwon shortly before I left.

In the unit that he's housed in, you are always 2 up when dealing with the crooks in there. For the short time that I was there after his return, we would be at least 4 up.

Everyone, us and the judge, knew it was a shit regime that he was going to be housed under, but for everyone's safety, there wasn't really any alternative.

google Lee Johnson Barwon Prison for more stories on him.

Sad.

After other prison officers have been injured by the same individual it must be easy to care not a jot, so credit to you for your balanced attitude to what sounds like an truly tragic situation
