Hodge doesn't rate until he can break a Tag

Bomber could see that Mitchell was the more damaging player in that game hence Ling went to Mitchell for the second half then viola Hodge starts to win some cheap ball

Not at all.

Hodge actually had less possession after Ling left him. He also kicked his only goal on Ling.

Your troll is cool and everything, but it's statistically inaccurate.

I still don't actually see Hodgepodge answering me.

Hodge VS Nick Smith

14 Disposals.

Adelaide, got the best taggers in Doughty and Reilly.

Port, got the best tagger for him in Matt Thomas and Logan.

West Coast, got Adam Selwood, best tagger for the Eagles.

Melbourne, got J McDonald.

Got 20 or more possessions on all these occassions, contrary to the OP's claim.

Shall I keep going?

Maybe thats the reason why? They aren't even taggers Doughty plays loose man up back 80% of the match. And what happened to Kane Cornes for Port? You rate Thomas and Logan > K.Cornes as a tagger?

You missed the part where I noted Kornes/Cassisi tagged Hodge last year and were unable to shut him out of the game.

Matt Thomas probably did a better job. He also got the Chris Judd tag, so I'm not sure why you don't think he's Port's preffered tagger.

Cornes tends to take the more outside player these days. i.e. Marc Murphy, Brent Stanton.

That was one occassion where Hodge was beaten fair and square, with no intervening injuries, etc.

However I will note that it was a low disposal game from Hawthorn and Hodge was still able to exert his influence in the final term.

Are those games the ones in which Hodge managed to accumulate a massive 17 and 21 touches?

I don't know about the 17 touch game, or who was on him that day.

The 21 disposal, 2 goal game was against Cornes/Cassisi. Statistically just as good as the 26 disposal, 1 goal game against Matt Thomas.

All three players could be considered Port's No.1 tagging option for Hodge.

You'll also note that both the 26 disposal and 21 disposal games disprove the OP's contention that Hodge can't rack up 20 touches under a decent tag.

As do plenty of other games, some of which I have mentioned, and some of which I haven't.
