Im all for it and have absolutely no problems with gay couples. Recently had some huge fights with mates about it who cannot stand it and to be honest it sickens me that they are this oppresive beacuse it is 'wrong'.

So please, give me your views on this touchy subject.
For? Against? Marriage? Girls? Guys?

I have no problem with (1) homosexuals or their getting (2) married.
Homosexuality is common amongst most animals, but even if it weren't what would that matter? If I choose to do something because I enjoy it, and someone else choose to do that something with me, whose business is it?
(1) It (homosexuality) does not harm anybody else. It is not anybody else's business what consenting adults do, unless it harms the state. If it harms people known to those consenting adults, then just like all other things that harm people like adultery, divorce, etc, it only concerns the state when it's a matter of violence, property or law.
(2) Marriage is often said to be a religious institution. And in recent history that might be roughly correct. But in past centuries, people didn't always marry and/or married their favorite animal (Nero?) and before the Theodisian laws that came in with Christianity, after it started to heft its muscle, that Constantine gave it by making it the state religion, marriage wasn't just God blessing 'Adam and Eve'. It was a civil matter.
These days, many marriages are again civil matters, not religious. Society continues on apace. The idea that allowing two people of the same sex to be married will undermine society is stupid, or will undermine marriage and make all married people gay is even more stupid. In the end, the reason why gay people want the same marriage rites is simply because they want to publicly declare their love/commitment the same way hetero people do. Gay marriage will not change a hetero marriage in any way. Those who claim that a gay non-marriage ceremony is the same as marriage, should demonstrate this by having a hetero non-marriage ceremony.

I can't see any rational argument not to link homphobia with being a dumbarse. I also don't buy it being a matter of opinion. Same with gay marriage. I have never heard any argument that is even close to rational that opposes it.

I have no issue with what someone does in their bedroom. Some people root chicks, some people root dudes, some people root farm animals. Whatever. What i DO have an issue with however, are the large amount of gay people I meet who wear their sexuality as their identity. Its as if their being gay defines them as a human being, rather than being what they do to get a load out. I dont swagger around town letting my heterosexuality dictate the way i speak, think, talk, judge other people and generally act, yet SO many gay people do.

Root other dudes. Root other chicks. Root them all at once. I dont care, but let your personality, identity and character be about the sort of human being you are. How you treat people, your honesty, your integrity. Dont let it be about whta gives you a stiffy.

Personally I find it disgusting (men) but I find a lot of things disgusting and that doesn't mean it should be banned. They are consenting adults and what they do in their own time is their own business. What I do hate however are those people who feel they need to tell us about how great it is and shit. Uni this week was gay week or something and there was this chick (as lesbian as they come with spiked hair and a suit),giving a speech about 15 min long about why we shouldn't have kids. I wasn't sure if she was serious or taking the piss.
