Had to have a chuckle at the above, which are described as 'distressing and disturbing images which should shock every parent'. Possibly the internet has hardened us all, but two 14 year olds jumper punching each other in the quadrangle doesn't strike me as particularly noteworthy.

I am tipping that every single person who went to a public school in the last 150 years would have either seen or participated in the equivalent at some point during their school life. Kids fight with kids- that's why the cliche 'schoolyard brawl' exists. Why is this suddenly shocking tabloid fodder?

The pic in the top left looks like something from Green Street Hooligans 2.

Back in my day  there were fights every week. Nothing new.

who was that annoying little shit who kept telling george to "hit him"?

what the hell do you think george is trying to do mate?

In ten years time he'll be one of those tools in the outer yelling 'just kick it long!'

Gotta love the high school jumper punch. I remember the great feeling when you heard the cheap polo shirts rip... Classic.

Does anyone else remember the absolute thrill of a fight? Sure it's extremely lame in retrospect, but all 14 year olds would get caught up in the hype. Chinese whispers would take over and you'd be chirping in your mates ear "he said you're a weak ••••, hit him man." Everyone would pretend they didn't care, but as soon as you heard a punch had been thrown, everyone would run over.

By the time I looked at it there was only 1 vid left, the one with the annoying cameraman (I assume).

The image were disturbing though, those were the weakest looking 14 year olds I have ever seen.

Do kids not play sport or do any sort of physical activity anymore?

Edit: Ahh, found the rest of them.

All the boys were just pathetic, you can tell they watch far too much 'violent' TV. Just wildly throwing haymakers and missing 95% of the time.

As alfy said, the girls on the other hand were impressive, they get straight into it and do some proper damage.

Funnily enough, the girl fights were the most brutal. One girl landed a great knee in the clinch and rag dolled the other. I'd like to see her put some work into a training camp and have a go at Rhonda Rousey for the title.

Kent Street/Belmont Senior high school here, Lack of make-shift screwdrivers stolen from the mechanic shop class used as knives, Freaking Amateurs, Girls on the other hand get in and go hard, obviously not playing UFC on their Xbox all day playing as Chael Sonnon. Plus the ****ing chav sounding queer yelling "Av a go Georgie boy!", Why didnt anyone hit him?

Have to agree, that kid sounded like a complete tool. He's just as bad as "George" in my opinion, fiming it and screaming on like that.

There was always more talking about having fights than actual having fights. Sometimes even during the fights.

I was "involved" in a mass brawl between two schools at West Lakes Mall in Adelaide when I was at school (Seaton High and Henley High for those playing at home). It started as a sporting rivalry, became an after school thing to bait each other at the Mall because a whole bunch of kids from both schools went there on the bus on their way home after school. One day it went too far.

It started on a bus, where in the melee the back window of the bus was pushed out and smashed on the ground. Guys spilled out of the bus and squared off and those of us who were just standing there waiting for our own buses got caught up in it and then it was on. Probably about 30-40 kids just going nuts for a bit. I was trying not to get involved but one guy ran at me and tried to tackle me, so I just moved back a bit as he lowered his shoulder, grabbed his neck and then fell back with him and DDT'd him into the concrete.

I saw he was knocked loopy, so I got up and walked away. That was my "involvement" in the brawl. Cops came about 3 minutes after it had started but it was mostly broken up by then and three quarters of us just scarpered when we saw the cops coming. I am almost certain that nothing came of it and there was no "SHOCKING SCHOOL FIGHT AT MALL" on the news.

And the next day, we were back together again at the mall and everyone left each other alone. We had had our fun the day before.

I loved your educated commentary :D

School punch ons were pretty common in most public schools when I was a kid. The difference was it was either one on one, or an all in agreed brawl at a school sports event. Now when fights hit the ground the other piss weak mates lay the boots in. Kids no longer have a chance to "tap" or say they have had enough. That is probably my biggest issue with school fights these days.

I think that is a problem with all fights anywhere these days. It might start as a one on one, but as soon as you go down there is five of his mates ready to sink the boot in as well. I remember a fight started over a four square game one day and it kind of descended into an all in brawl for a few moments ( I got clocked in the head by a guy with a cast on his arm. Hurt like hell but I didn't go down.)

But it was all pretty much harmless stuff. And the next day we were back playing four square as if nothing had happened.

We used to play thugby at lunch a rugby game where you tacked as hard as you want. The game was 10 times harder than this shit campaigners got clothes lined.
