i don't know if it has been mentioned but can you believe he was named in the best for the AGE. Just for getting a few touches and doing a pathetic tag

He did quieten Crawford in the second half. It's not all about how many touches you get but whether you did your job or influenced the game. Taggers have important roles too. As we see elsewhere, Lappin & Stevens had 71 touches between them but should that put them in the best players? What effect did those touches have?

Houla played on Crawford in the 2nd half, not the first. Crawf's possesions in the 2nd half: 8
Houlihan's possesions in the second half: 8
Is it so hard to understand?

On a related note... I've noticed Carrazzo has been really lazy with his disposal lately. He's been playing 'outside' almost exclusively as well.

Anyone got an over/under on how long until a commentator picks up on this?

Carrazzo and Bentick are struggling agian. Balckwell has dropped off from his initial blazing forray into the seniors. Right now none of these guys are good enough to win us a flag and until they prove otherwise we need to be looking for ways to fix the problem, if that means replacing them then so be it.

I agree that Blackwell has dropped off.I think its too early to make a call on him just yet.Carrazzo should probably start next year in the 2's and take it from there.Bentick I understand that he is tough in the packs, decent at the smaller grounds but far too slow for open play, apart from that I really dont see much going for him, just throws the ball onto the boot and hopes for the best.We need guys who can run and carry and honour leading forwards.

Bentick is our second best player, behind Stevo for first possessions. 3rd behind Scotland & Stevo for clearances. First for contested possessions. 3rd behind Thornton & Whitnall for 1%ers. First for tackles (and 8th overall in the AFL). This is not bad for a kid who is only 21 and still gets limited game time. He may be not be a Rolls Royce, more of a bloody hard working Falcon ute, but you need him to provide a lot of the grunt, to allow Murphy, Simpson, Blackwell and Walker to do the fancier stuff. Pagan has stated several times this year what an important rule Bentick plays and will continue to play and yet he is only in his 2nd full season on the senior list and has only played 33 games. Fancy writing him off at this stage of his career.

Agree that it is too early to write him off but would prefer Blackwell to be given more game time at the moment. I do admire his courage and willingness to do the hard things though. However I think Blackwell is also good with this facet of the game but with more finesse. Presently there is room in the side for both so perhaps we should just be patient and see how the mid field group develops.

After we get Gibbs or whoever else are the gun picks in the draft. Murphy has already shown how good he is, and no doubt a few more will work wonders.
It's amazing when you see players with skill and talent or yr own team, it really shows up the hacks, if only it would inspire the rest to do better...
