You know, if you think i am wrong to whinge about this, feel free to tell me so... i personally think i have every right to be extremely peeved at the situation which has occured at my house!

One of my housemates, a girl, has gone away for Christmas. The other is at home, and i went away until yesterday.

I get home yesterday afternoon, and after pottering around in my room for half an hour or so, noticed a huge red wine stain on my carpet near my couch, and also on my couch (IN MY BEDROOM, YES).. so i go out and ask Mr X (male housemate) what the go is, and he looked sheepish and explained that he and some mates had gotten home from the pub, and were walking around the house and thought they would sit down and have some drinks in my room.

Note that my couch is a two seater... he had three mates over, so one was obviously sitting on my bed?.

Now, to me, a bedroom is a private place, where a HOUSE MATE, especcially one of opposite sex, should not enter without prior permission or invitation, let alone take his mates in there to hold a small party!!!!!!!

I am furious, hurt, and now paranoid. I sit in my bedroom and wonder what else they touched in there... i have bra's hanging on a fan, dirty undies in a dirty clothes hamper... you name it. I mean, its a bedroom.

Its a cool, funky bedroom, would be great to entertain in, sure. But its MINE, and i made it that way. I am devastated.

Aside from getting a lock on my door and making him pay to get the carpet and lounge clean... how can i repair whats happened? I cant even look at him, though he has apologised profusely. He knew from the beginning how i felt about my bedroom, and he went against it.... Apart from moving out, which is what i feel like doing, i dont know how i can make it better, and make my home a home again!!! :(

Yeah it isn't kosher to go into another persons bedroom unless asked.

The only time I would accept it if I had borrowed something of theirs, they needed it back and I wasn't home.

Same DB, even then i would be funny about it, and i would call them to let them know, etc.... but to make yourselves at home in there and hold a little get together.... GGrrr..

I just cant let it go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the first time I went into my housemates room was cos the bugger had my guitar tuner, I felt odd about being there. Couldn't find it so I didn't search, was only to get it if it was sitting out in the open or something.

This prick had no such qualms though, wandered into my room while I was asleep to get my heater because he was cold in the shower. Bah.

The fact they had a party in there is pretty poor.

Thats quite a strange thing to do really! What is wrong with his room?? Plus there is a thing usually called a lounge room, or family room...why couldnt they party in there?

Have to say im quite intrigued about your room now. Does it have flashing lights, a dance floor, and a resident DJ??

Why would someone throw a mini party in someone elses room

Im sure it was really harmless and they didnt go searching around your room. Just extremely poor judgement on your housemates part. Still gotta wonder why on earth he wouldnt just go in the lounge room, or in his own bedroom!

This is extremely poor form. I must say that my (female) housemate and I occasionally bring each other's washing in and leave it on the end of their bed (because we want to use the clothes horse), but having a party is terrible.

Early days still, but you'll have to get over it somehow or someone will need to move. Having that atmosphere in the house will be like walking on eggshells all the time.

Also must say that I'm intrigued with your "funky" room after that disco ball avatar of yours! :)

What, he didnt even knock? God, i dont understand how people can just have no manners!!!

It wasnt really a party, i dont know, but they were sitting in there drinking their red wine and talking **** i guess, and thats enough for me... they shouldnt have even walked in there.

His room is a pigsty, basically. When i got home yesterday there was dirt all over the kitchen floor, dishes piled high, mud tracked through the hall, the back door was broken, etc... it just looked like someone had ripped a tornado through the place...

Nothing that special about my room, it just has a really good stereo in it, a sofa-bed couch, a double bed.... a bookshelf, chest of drawers... etc.... its all purple, and is neat and i guess looks pretty funky, expecially compared to his room. But its no excuse. It isnt a lounge room, we have one of those!!!! Gggrrr.

So mad. Cant wait til Ms X (other housemate) gets back.

The mates came round last night and i walked out of the house and snubbed them all (havent officially met them) and said to Mr X, "I'm going out to buy a lock for my room" really nastily, so they all would have got the message. One of them knocked on my door later to apologise but its just too late for that!! Anyway its more him than the mates, he should have known better.

I have to say, that whole thing would be enough to make ME move!!!!!!!!! I have always considered my bedroom to be MINE, I don't mind so much if someone goes in to put something away/borrow something, but if they spend any extra time in there uninvited I get VERY upset, I dont really know why it's just how I am. I even get this way with family.....

I'm that way Jacs too, family, best friends, ANYONE!
I even have a little purple loveheart pillow thing on a string on my door handle and it says PRIVATE on it! I mean do i need a beware, do not enter sign?

Not that this neccessarily happened in this case (bad enough as it was), Babe was obviously worried amongst other things about her undies situation and what the boys may have got up to.

As many here may have noticed I am a pretty red blooded guy with a healthy (?) interest in the opposite sex, and am a big fan of ladies underwear, but only when it is wrapped around the lady in question.

Can someone explain what buzz guys get from sneaking peeks at/sniffing etc etc ladies undies with no ladies enclosed? Can't see the thrill myself.

A friend of mine sprung one of her housemates going the fiddle in her knicker drawer recently , and she was out of that place like a shot.

(Although as I told you before Babe that's not the worst thing that has happened to someone I know while flatting)

TC, you're spot on there to be honest.... there is something else in my underwear drawer thati shudder to think of someone finding! Pretty predictable place for it to be, yes... but regardless of what may or may not have been found, its still very poor of those bastards to have been snooping (if they were in fact snooping) in a girls bedroom...
