What do you make of him so far?

Yes, I'm a Dogs poster but not a troll and this is a serious thread.

Putting aside what I think of him as a Dogs fan, I think he will be good for you guys and I'm interested to see how he goes coaching again after having a break.

He's certainly a great motivator, and I'd expect that you'll have some surprise/backs to the wall victories which you will be really proud of.

Yeah I think he's done great so far. I'm really hoping it's him that can lead us to a finals berth and hopefully a premiership down the track. Out of all the coaches that could've got the job, I personally wanted Wallace to do it, and from what I've seen so far, I'm very happy we have him. Should be an interesting 2005.

So far so good - the proof will come when we run out for a serious match. But even you Dry Rot must admit he was great for Doggies !st up.

Certainly was, and I think he will be for you guys too.

Putting all the Dogs walkout stuff to one side, some of us question what he was like at building lists and developing tactics/game plans which will win finals - which is why I'm genuinely interested about what he's thought about/how he'll change in his break from coaching. Ditto Eade for us.

I think that both of our clubs are in for interesting seasons.

Cheers

think both coaches were hamstrung by list deficiiencies and ground containments (for game plans) . Think SCG to Whiiten may be a bigger hurdle, though Rocket is a goog coach. TW has played out of the bigger Melb grounds before.

Overall TW,s 1st stint as a coach would have to go down as a successful one despite the way he left and the condition of your list when he left. He,s had 2yrs to reflect and guage what is needed via his media role,s and surely this means only good news for us.So far i,ve been very impressed with TW you only have to go to training to see the massive difference to our training drills compared to previous years.
For you guys Eade is an excellent choice.Your gain is Hawthorns loss IMO.A very wise decision going for a person like Eade over another untried coach.this is where the hawks have stuffed up bigtime.
I expect both our clubs to make marked improvements in 2005 but not quite enough to make the 8.

cheers!

The formline i like to look at TOO is that of Mick Malthouse`s and Leigh Matthews` .

How did they go second up after a year or 2 of contemplation ? Especially Matthews . Second time wiser . That`s the way i`m hoping it goes down for us , and have only seen positive signs so far .

FWIW....... good to see a doggies supporter who is over the Wallet/Judas cr.p and is capable of normal footy discussion .....Kudos Dry Rot

Yeah well he is 110% better then what Frawley was and thats even before we play our first game underhim. Many Western Bulldogs fans are Cut about what Happened but to be honest I could see were he was coming from and wanted out even though he should of stayed 1 more week.

IF Terry does not get the results Richmond will never be any good and on that I can see the results already even if it takes a few years to get it into the playing group.

Thank you.

I may still have certain thoughts about both of them but I decided a while ago to move on and not post about them, and have often said the same on our board. Same about Rohde - it's time to look forward to 2005.

We had a lot of discussion on the Dogs Board about this. Seemed to me that a struggling club with a young list needs an experienced coach.

Eade's second stint could be very interesting for him personally. His last couple of years at the Swans were pretty miserable, with lots of interference and pressure from above. At the Dogs he has complete control, and I think he will really enjoy himself. Also interesting that he has faith in the current players and has made it clear that everyone has a clean slate. Players like Gilbee & Birrs may really shine this year.

Wallace has done everything right so far but that doesn't mean much as the real test will come once we start playing competitive matches.

As others have mentioned Malthouse and Matthews were better coaches after a couple of years out of the game, you can also add Blight to this list. Hopefully the trend continues and Wallace can learn from his mistakes that he made during his time with the Dogs.

Talk about obsessed... I searched your recent posts and they are nearly all on our board and none on the Melbourne board.

Richmond#1fan he said previously that he was sleeping with you. Is this true? and is that why you haven't banned him from trolling on our board?

When did I say that?

I don't post on the Melbourne board... because I'm not obsessed about footy in summer. When I get bored I read this and am always gobsmacked that people post on here for 10 hours a day 7 days a week. Get a life!! I post on here very rarely... some of you are never off here!

I have to admit I wasn't a fan of Terry Wallace before he came to Tigerland and was hoping we'd get Rodney Eade. Since his arrival he's certainly got me sold though, there has already been a massive shift in attitude since his arrival and there has been so much positive media coverage.

On field, I expect Eade to have more of an impact straight away at the Dogs than Wallace will have at Tigerland. If they don't then I'd be concerned as their playing list is better than a bottom 4 team. I its turned out well for both the Tigers & Dogs, but I must admit now having seen them both in action post-season, I'm really glad we got Wallace now.

The list management issue I'm not so concerned about as with Miller to play a large part in that area and Wallace's time off, I'm sure they won't let something like that happen again.
