Have the Hawks improved their list this trade period?

Lost two players who played all three finals.

Jaith and Worpel.

So to stay at the same level that's two kids that will need to step in and up into the best 23.

Draftees likely won't impact in 2026 unless they chase mature age recruits.

Lions, Swans and Saints all made significant improvements to their lists. Two of those teams will be gunning for a top 8 finish.

As will the Bulldogs.
Jiath wasn't in our best 22 come round 1 2026

Worpel Yeah, But Honestly what he brought in can be replaced by Day hopefully being fit, then having guys like Butler ect Rotate more through the midfield

We still have a very young list with a heap of depth and that should drive improvement, Yeah Merrett would of been an instant Plug and play elite midfielder, But I would still bank of a lot of improvement in the side as we did show a complete lack of composure in those big games, which experience is the best way of improving these things

Close enough but as everyone knows , Will Day is extremely important. Also, the game plan , style seems solid enough to be a contender.

Without Will Day and Calshier Dear, our best player, and most important KP forward, we pushed the premiers to within 10 points on their home ground. I reckon we are as good as anyone at our best, and with room to improve from existing list.

Merrett would have been an ideal recruit, but we're looking quite strong without him too.

They made a prelim

With a healthy will day they are another big chance.

The only weakness is they relied on Gunston a lot last year, he’s 34 now.

Still, they will be in the mix come September

Reckon they’re a Zach Merrett away from being clear favourites.

Wonder who Sammy will meet with next year and then strategically leak it to the media to put pressure on said players club , ultimately leading to a smooth and successful trade for his hawks come the end of the year-
Merrett, Allen, Reid …. Just working a treat for the leagues self proclaimed genius coach!

You would have to be seriously thick to think Hawthorn or Mitchell leaked that, and particularly in the week of a final.

Straight from the Bitchell’s mouth! Wow, didn’t realise he said this.

So they an actually got worse, I predict they finish around 10th next year. Should have a tough draw too.

Have a look at rhe ABC analysis of who won trade week.

Two very interesting tables.

The second one was immediate impact from the trade period for next season.

Saints were on top with all the established guns they traded in.

Hawks were last, when looking at what left versus what came in (nothing).

They went backwards in trade week where the Saints, Lions and Swans all improved. So will be interesting to see if Sam Mitchell is right. Others have improved and the Hawks lost talent. After only just making rhe top 8.

We had the second hardest draw this year and finished top 4 without our best player. Didn't lose any player we didn't want to. Cope harder.

He was talking about how they played, not who they had on the list.
Barrett has taken that quote out of context and you're lathering yourself up over it.

Hawks fans coping so hard, clear for any neutral that they’ll stagnate while the teams around them have improved.

Free money betting on their unders/miss top 4 next year.
You go for West Coast. Your opinion is worth more than a rotten wheel of cheese.

Xavier Ellis and Sam Mitchell left Hawthorn for West Coast because they felt sorry for you. Pretty soon you'll sign Rayden Tallis and Dean Anderson.

In what way? Which player that we lost moves the needle? Which players that didn't play in the prelim move the needle? Your feeding into the bullshit narrative that oh they lost 3 players (2 being depth) there gonna fall out of the 8. Apparently none of Ward, Dear or McKenzie as examples will get better. Watson won't get better 😂. Day plays a full season nah doesn't matter we will go backwards. Go back to your board and post your dribble on there mate

Not about who you’ve lost, those players might get better but you have a bunch of older players that likely get worse. You can rely on Day playing a full season when it happens.

The other top teams bar Collingwood and maybe Geelong have more internal improvement than the hawks and most of them have added best 22 players this offseason.
